Tavern House is a full-service restaurant and bar overlooking the beautiful Newport harbor. We feature New American cuisine, West Coast Wines, Beers & Specialty Cocktails. We have a banquet room with fireplace, skylights and operable windows. It is operated by local chef/restaurateur David Wilhelm.

Service was very good, including bringing out food for kids early. Wine selection good, ranging from something like $30 for a bottle that costs $3 at Walmart, to $120 or maybe more. The Sauvignon Blanc I had was nice.
Fish and chips for somewhere in the mid $20s was certainly a good enough quality, but overpriced. I had a BBQ combo which consisted of very dry ribs which even the tasty sauce failed to make up for, a chicken leg quarter which was flavorless once past the skin, cornbread, and Andouille sausage which was okay. I get that the ribs have to be previously cooked and then reheated, but other places can and do achieve this without the dryness. Wife's sea bass special was good enough.
We sat outside but there was inside dining - but tables way too close to each other for my liking.
$200 including tax and tip for 4 people including 1 bottle of wine is a bit much really for the quality.

Carlos (General Manager) I can't thank you enough for allowing me to have my large party there for dinner tonight. Our dinners were wonderful, so tasty with unique sauces, the one on the shrimp appetizer and oysters on the half shell was amazing, I loved the fresh fish of the day, sea bass. Next time I want to try the Pork Schnitzel, which is always a treat and hard to find. Everyone in my party loved their meals, one of the gals loved the food so much, she ordered two more meals to go.
This was my first time here tonight, and I know I've heard so many fabulous recommendations, they were all accurate. The views were beautiful seeing the gondolas going past the window, and huge yachts docked outside along with the homes on Linda Isle.
We will be returning for one of the famous Sunday brunches with a great menu we saw. I hope to bring back another party of 12 people, because you really have taken all Covid precautions for your patrons and we felt very safe. Thanks again!

We had eaten here several times before the pandemic and really enjoyed both the food and the service. So we felt very comfortable in bringing some out of town friends here. I guess things have changed. Or, perhaps we caught them on an off night. Food was so so at best. Even the famous charred brussels sprouts (which I had been bragging about) fell well short of the mark Don't think we'll be back. We certainly will never bring guests here again.

We made a random stop for dinner after driving back to Santa Monica from San Diego. We’re in CA for several nights after a trip to Hawaii before heading home to Florida. This restaurant has great curb appeal and looks over a gorgeous marina. We sat at the bar and ordered, some of the best food we’ve had on this trip (yes, even in Hawaii). We shared the salmon salad w/spiced pecans, cranberries and a champagne vinaigrette. I know, you’re like “a salad” but yes, a nice sized salad / piece of tender fish cooked to perfection, the dressing was to die for, pecans, cranberries, it was absolutely delicious. We didn’t think it could get any better until the dijon shrimp appetizer came out after a recommendation from our server/bartender Bre (who couldn’t have been sweeter). In fact all of the staff behind the bar checked on us multiple times, couldn’t have been a better experience. We’ll definitely be back to Newport Beach and Tavern House Kitchen & Bar!!

First of all our server Omar K. is what any server should strive to be. Friendly, welcoming, easy going. Happy to provide insight and knowledge into each dish and help us to steer our way into a dinner we would thoroughly enjoy.
I can't say enough about the level of customer service provided by Omar at Tavern House kitchen & bar.
The atmosphere is amazing seated right on the bay with views of water and sailing vessels and a great marine breeze.
The menu is top notch. We chose this place as a more "casual" spot compared to some of the places to dine at in Newport and it outshined any other establishment we visited that weekend. Although the atmosphere is amazing, the food incredible, and the staff the very best at what they do, it was all very welcoming and affordable.
Tavern House kitchen & bar is a place other restaurants should strive to be.
Just one last word of praise about Omar. Make sure you ask to get seated with him!

Excellent service, a great view, good food, what’s not to like. I had the sole and it was very good. Our granddaughter had the flatbread pizza and enjoyed it very much. The waitress worked with my wife who is lactose intolerant and found a meal to her Lola’s well.

Tavern house was one of the early ones that set up a tent in the lot to stay open and has remained great in the hardest times. Our recent family night out on a winters night was a great experience. We chose to be on the tent and it was warm and not crowded. Service was fast and great, good fun cocktail menu- love the watermelon mojito! Wine list has great values and wow, the food! The chopped salad is absolutely incredible. I tried the schnitzel and could not believe how proper and flavorful it was! Seafood special was superb! Desert was a giant dangerous thing called Bananarama, couldn’t stop eating- so good.
The valet parking guys here are particularly good. My wife accidentally left her phone on the backseat. It was there when they returned the car and you can tell these are good men! A rarity these days.

Haven't been back to this restaurant since it was 333 and it's a bummer because it's good and has a great view. We went for happy hour which has good food/drinks on menu. I had a yummy skinny margarita with fresh crushed mint, limes, oranges. Friends had wine. We shared the prime rib sliders, tavern salad and pear/prosciutto flatbread. Everything was delicious and the service was good too. Our server heard it was my bday and brought a yummy chocolate desert. This is our new fav place for happy hour on the water.

We celebrate my uncle anniversary and It was a nice view. It used to be 333 restaurant. But the food was just okay. I ordered Budha bowl and the rice was not cooked right. My husband fish Sandwich was okay. But we love the view.

The bartender was amazingly attentive. She highlighted the happy hour wine pricing and the menu. The wine menu is very good by the glass or bottle. Ordered the Tuna Poke. Appears small, however, it is very filling. Chips are house made. Highly recommend at sunset. There are TV's at the bar for sport events. Friendly valet parking. Lots of locals dine here. Enjoy!

Why the bad reviews?? Must be REALLY fussy patrons. I found this restaurant to have great service (NORI our server - she was excellent). Fabulous fresh fish. I had the fish and chips. Husband had the Sea Bass which was delicious and so fresh. Better than in Boston or Maine. Charming restaurant with wonderful views, sunsets and great service. Loved this restaurant and I am one of those fussy eaters.

Good food, good atmosphere, and good view. We wanted to go somewhere good to eat on the water, this is where we picked and it was exactly that. Nothing was sensational about it but it was very good. Food, drinks, service was all good.

Say something positive, I was taught. Ok, the service was very good. But… the food is bland and forgettable. Mediocre at best. Won’t waste more time with details, but we tried appetizers, a salad, and a main. There’s 30 better restaurants within 20 minutes of this place. Go at your own risk.

I ordered the lobster and corn bisque and it was very bitter did not finish. Also had the coconut shrimp which were very over cooked and dry. Would not go back or recommend.
Service was good and nice views.
