The wonderful food is consistently good - the best French dishes (duck, lapin, escargot to name a few) for miles around, and perfectly priced for the quality you receive. The service is excellent - very warm, friendly and prompt. All road construction has been completed so entering is very easy. Parking can be limited, but there is a large lot... More

Just had my second visit to Pescadou. I had the 3 course dinner with escolar. The fish was cooked perfectly and expertly seasoned. The ambiance of this restaurant is warm and cozy. The staff are very welcoming and attentive but not hovering. I think the prices are very reasonable, considering the quality of the food and the overall dining experience.... More

The menu was somewhat limited but the items on the menu were all excellent. The service was different than expected - more of a relaxed kind-a vibe (which may be ok - just usual for a French place with these prices). Oh - yes it isn't cheap. Well worth a visit though. Recommend to foodies.

My sister and a dear friend and I enjoyed a wonderful three course prix fixe dinner here last night in an intimate and warm setting. Our server was a charming French man who was attentive and playful. We all went with the cod entree - cooked to perfection with fingerling potatoes. Salads and soups were fresh and flavorful. They have... More

Both the duck and lamb chops where delicious, but a little on the expensive side. The place is quite cozy and the service was excellent.

My wife and I met two friends there last night. The service was excellent and attentive. The entrees - which we paired with a wonderful French Rose' - were excellent. All in all, it was a great evening! Two side notes: 1) I consider myself something of a baguette expert. Theirs was as good, or better, than any I have... More

This is a very nice, quaint, French Swiss restaurant. The looks of the outside and even inside are rather dull and plain. The service was ok. We got the fixed price menu which was very reasonable $39 for 3 courses. We started with French onion soup and the sausage platter, which were both very good. For the main courses, we... More

We visited Pescadou for dinner several times several years ago and were disappointed that the duck breast and lamb chops we ordered were overcooked. We ordered them medium rare and they were medium. We did not return for a few years. Recently I read many good reviews and assumed that the food was now better. We returned and again ordered... More

Description
Located on a non assuming strip mall on Newport Blvd at the beginning of the Newport/Balboa peninsula near Lido, this is a cozy French restaurant family owned and operated since 1998. The sitting is casual yet elegant with tablecloth on the table. Authentic French menu a la carte and prix fixe menu as well. Nice wine list of mostly French wines.
