Bit of a run down joint but what it does not have in sparkle it makes up in atmosphere. Get in when there is some music on and you will have a great night. The guiness is perfect and the water is or so ive been told.

Great stop for a few beers. Love the atmosphere. Easy to make new friends and enjoy hanging out. Right on the bay with parking in back.

While on vacation, I was able to convince my wife that we should watch the Champions League Final at an Irish bar. The Shamrock is exactly that - it is a dive. But a really authentic, Irish "dive" that attracts locals and Irish folks alike. The seating is custom made for watching sports events and the crowd was completely into... More

Had a wonderful Irish experience here with Lauren the most excellent bartender and great food from the kitchen. Having just got back from the real Ireland, this place is as good as it gets for a replication of our Irish travels! Thanks Lauren and the nice talk with the owner!!

Love this place. The breakfast here is original and delicious. I had the corned beef hash and eggs and would give it two thumbs up. The crowd at night is jolly and drunken. Bands tend to be more of the real deal and less of the cheesier type that you will find down at the NB pier. As a whole... More

Check the Google ratings of this place. They are either 'Best place in the World' or 'filthy dive',no in between. Personally I really liked this funky little pub. The crew running the place is great and the Irish Breakfast excellent. This is a 'real' pub. No pretentious ambiance here. You want the real deal, then enjoy.

The drinks were very expensive. The service was not very friendly. Waitress never came up to us, we had to go to the bar to get our drinks. No music, but did have sports on TV's.We didn'tget any food as we planned because of the service. We did get to relax because the waitress never stopped by.

This was by far the best bar that we found in Newport Beach. Very friendly, helpful bar staff and the place had a good atmosphere: strangers started chatting, just like they do in a good Dublin pub. Despite visiting in the first week of January it still had enough customers on weekday evenings to make for an enjoyable atmosphere, and... More

Used this bar for drinks on several occasions and found it to be a very friendly place to relax with a pint or two. Well perhaps a few Jameson's and a few red wines as well. All in all a great little bar. Many thanks to the staff and owner.

The owners were the most welcoming in all the bars that I was in during the trip, A real Irish pub feel to the place. Food was great at a good price and were very accommodating when we wanted to watch a Ireland soccer game. Loads of other European soccer on as well and a good buzz around with cool... More
