My wife and I had an early dinner meal on our recent visit to Nevada City. Everything was terrific...we especially enjoyed the food and the great atmosphere.

We travel to Nevada City at least once a month to dine here. No matter how crazy life becomes, we can come here with the family, order our favorites, and time stands still. The wait staff treats you like a local, the food (especially the teryaki steak) is excellent, and if you love music, come early and stay late listening... More

While there are a variety of places to choose from I am a repeat customer here because the food is so good, the bar is fun and the wait is short.

Whether dining in the bar or the forest-like restaurant, you will find yourself in a cozy, comfortable and friendly environment. We dine at Friar Tuck's at least monthly; more often than not in the bar where the rotating, nightly local musicians make the evenings all the more pleasant. If you have a large appetite, I recommend beginning a meal with... More

Friar Tuck's is a quiet (okay, the lounge area can get loud), classy place in Nevada City, just off Broad Street. Service is polite, attentive and understated, the atmosphere is wood and high ceilings. They have a pretty extensive menu, ranging from seafood to American chophouse to "continental" dishes. When we recently went, one of us ate light with French... More

The last few years the food here has gone down hill. I told my husband I didn't want to eat here because their food is crappy, but it was busy everywhere else so we went. OH, how I wish I had gone with my gut. First, the sautéed mushroom appetizer was quite literally cooked mushrooms with raw mustard out of... More

I'm in the process of moving to Nevada City, CA- I've been back and forth from Colorado to here and Friar Tuck's has quickly become a favorite. The food is delicious and we love the laid back scene this place provides. The bar side is fun and has live music often and the dining area is great too.

We rarely eat here except on special occasions, but I think it's worth the price. Friar Tucks is mostly known for their Fondue, which I can't comment on, because I didn't have it (don't really care for it). Did have the hamburger which was reasonably priced for a high-end restaurant, probably 1/2 pound of meat with a lot of fries.... More

This is a wonderful restaurant to visit with family or just a twosome. The bar has a great menu and is almost always available with just a short wait. The main restaurant is large but fairly quiet so conversations are not forced. The menu is extensive but the fondue is fairly unique and well worth trying for adults. Flaming anything... More

Went with family and it was really fun and great environment. Next time I want to try the fondue, it looks amazing. We all had great meals and can't wait to come back again.
