After a pleasant lunch, we needed sugar. This was the place to be.
They offer nostalgic candy choices representing generations of fun.
We happily left the store with our bag of orange sticks and turtles -- perfect for snacking down Broad St.
Our cheerful hostess at the counter was very helpful - answered our questions about different chocolate styles.
We will return.

They make 90% + of the chocolates and fudge offered for sale. Service was very good and the Banna Split and Hot Fudge sundae were great.

The service here is terrible. The owners are greedy and do not care about their customers. The treats and ice cream are overpriced.

This shop is so much fun to browse through.....and yummy. Full of traditional goodies and a little stroll down memory lane. Give yourself some time here as it’s a popular place, but worth it!

All I wanted to do is to head into the quaint little spot in downtown Nevada City. I was so rudely treated at the door, that I would never step foot on the premises again. If one believes it is ok to great a potential customer like an ass, then obviously they have had their fill of customers. Ironically they allude to love on the sign in the window. Well... apparently it is merely a sales-pitch. DON'T GO THERE. NO SERVICE WOULD BE BETTER THAN SUBSIDIZING THE RUDENESS OF THESE PERSONS.

Brian, As you know there is a bit more to the situation that resulted in this review, but there is no need to go there, since his actions were totally unacceptable. Unfortunately, in the heat of the moment he responded very poorly. He regrets his actions and we are very sorry for his comments. We do value every customer and thank you for visiting our shoppe, I am sorry we didn't show you our appreciation. I hope that you will return so that we have the opportunity to share our shoppe with you and prove that we are a friendly place to visit.

Couldn't walk by without checking out the sweets. Freshly made toffee bark!! Yum! Bought it at the beginning of the vacation with the intentions of taking some back home to share with the kids. Wishful thinking on my part. Nibbled at it through the vacation until it was gone. Guess that means I need to add a 2nd visit to NC Choc Shoppe at the end of the vacation next time. ;)

They have the best ice cream and friendly service at the Nevada City Chocolate Shoppe. I recently had the Pralines & Cream and my husband had the Mint Chip. It tastes great and is so much better quality than many other places in Placer county to get ice cream. The prices are reasonable also. They have packaged candies and a huge variety of handmade chocolates, etc. We always indulge in treats here while wandering around Nevada City. Great place!

I heard absolutely glowing reviews from my friends who visited Linda, Bill and Jennifer at Nevada City Chocolate Shoppe ... about the quality and freshness of their products, how yummy everything tasted, and how lovely and quaint the shop feels.
With my son's wedding coming up, I was looking for something special to place in the out-of-town gift bags, as well as on the reception candy table.
Incredibly, Linda's website displayed just what I needed ... beautifully prepared, appropriately colored and wrapped bride and groom pretzels ...
Linda took great care to prepare the pretzels and toppings the day of shipping so that we would receive the highest quality product, which indeed we did
I am so sorry I am unable to attach a photo of these works of art, but when I arrived at the reception candy table, not a single bride or groom pretzel was to be found!!! Obviously, word had spread about how FRESH and YUMMY the pretzels tasted!

We came in here with our twin 10 year olds who were handling everything, asking a million questions and requesting samples. The wonderful staff did not even blink an eye. Tasters of pumpkin fudge (not our thing), dark choc fudge...then we bought delicious truffles and some old-timey candies. So good.

My husband loves dark chocolate so we stopped into this candy shop. Almost all their candies are homemade and the smell is wonderful. My husband said this was the best dark chocolate that he has ever had.

And be taken through a Time Warp. To a time and place when a Candy store was really a Candy store. This place is so awesome with prices that are always great. Walking around Nevada City you cannot afford to miss this little shop. Try their fudge it is by far superior to anything you have tasted before. Amazing

There are vintage candies as well as hand made candies and chocolates. We got a hunk of chocolate covered toffee and dark chocolate "Rocky Road" pieces. These were wonderful.
