Prices were reasonable. Was not impressed with the food or service. Waitress came by and asked if we needed more water but my sons Dr Pepper was empty and did not offer to refill it. She walked away and we had to ask someone else for a refill. Dr Pepper no ice and got a Dr Pepper full glass of... More

Vacationing in the area and the hotel manager recommended Cafe la Maze for dinner. The prime rib was excellent and my husband's crab legs were delicious. An awesome atmosphere and classic looking with old movie star pics on the the walls. Parking can be a challenge, but worth it once you get in.

Food was ok, nothing really stood out to remember. Drinks were average. Salad appeared to come from a bag. I liked the decor. The red button seats were old school and interesting. Wait staff were friendly. Pricey for the quality of food. I would not recommend this place for food but for the history.

DO NOT GO THERE!!! I'd give less than one star if able. We tried to give this place a chance, but BIG mistake. If mediocrity is what you're after, this place won't disappoint. Otherwise, expect subpar food and service...not to mention, their questionable billing practices. Since when are children counted in the > 6 for automatic gratuity applied?!?

The prime rib dinner was excellent though a little pricey. The décor is from the 50s and could use an update. It is rather dark inside. Plenty of parking. Service is very good and friendly.

This was the worst dining experience I've ever had. I wrote the management the following letter and left 2 phone messages and not 1 response. Here's the letter... This email is in regards to last night's dinner on May 23rd.First of all I would like to apologize because my criticism may have caused one of the servers to cry. Also,... More

I was born and raised here in National City. I hate to say I had never eaten here before....I missed out! My wife and I tried to stop here once before but it was closed. We had both heard such nice things about this place that we planned on coming back. She has to work on Sunday (Valentines day) so... More

The French Dip sandwich was ok but I had to remove a lot of fat before I could eat it. For alll the rave reviews I expected a lot more. I didn't find this to be 'Old Hollywood' at all, it was just old, dark, and depressing inside. The highlight was the service but I won't be returning even for... More
