We had dinner there on 8/4 and it was great. We had just arrived from Tucson for an overnight stay and found this restaurant online so ventured from our hotel for something good to eat and we found the right place. Surprisingly, it was empty...of diners but no worry the food was tasty, well prepared and excellent. They have a great selection of local beers and a great choice of wines. We sat outside and it’s the place to sit overlooking the boats in the marina. All in all I highly recommend it for good local food and a good place to relax.More

Surprising , nice waterfront setting in National City, and good service. Comfortable in and out door seating. Found menu to be somewhat limited and overpriced for what you get. I had a blackened salmon sandwich which includes either a tiny salad or homemade potato chips...or fries for $19 The fish was good but really should get two sides for that price My husband ordered the fresh catch for $19 and his fish was smaller than the salmon in my sandwich and came with a tiny salad and small scoop of rice. You choose the marinade and it was tasty. With his son ft drink and a tip: $45More

From a visit last year. I never knew there was a fine dining restaurant in the Marina Gateway district of National City, CA. The hours are lunch crowd Mon thru Thurs, then Friday, Sat, Sun they are open for dinner too. The serve beer, wine,...and alcohol here. Casual setting at edge of marina where boats are. Good for groups, many tables. I picked the special of the day, Thai Salmon, it was very fresh, cooked to perfection, and digested very easy. Staff at lunch is ver minimal, but they get the job done. I need to go back again.More

Very nice marina restaurant. A bit out of the way otherwise. Good variety of salads, sandwiches and burgers. Also wine & beer. We had our pets with us and sat out on the patio, nice day for January. We had the ahi tuna salad, burgers...and the BBQ pork. The garlic aioli fries were delicious!More

Marina meet killer food. A small menu, not fancy but great quality! Easy access both for boaters and landlubber alike. Wished they had longer hours.

We keep our boat at Pier 32 marina and have enjoyed a few lunches at the Waterfront Grill. Their gourmet soups and sandwiches, though a limited menu, offers daily specials, a pleasant patio with a breeze and a great view of boats and water. The...only disappointment we had was their hours are limited to 11-2 most days. The weekend offers longer hours, to sunset.More

We met some friends today for lunch on Pier 32 in National City, at The Waterfront Grill. The Restaurant sits above a beautiful new 250-slip marina on the Sweetwater River that leads to the San Diego Bay. The Waterfront Grill has indoor and outdoor seating...for your convenience. After picking out your table and looking at the menu, and picking out your breakfast or dinner plates, customers will then walk up to the cashier counter where you will meet Debbie Stephenson. Debbie was so nice as she takes your order and you pay your Bill in advance, so your food can be delivered by DJ the nice server, to your table. Waterfront Grill also features many varieties of Sodas, Wines, and Beers, for your pleasure to enjoy. We had the very delicious New England style Clam Chowder, served in a sourdough bread bowl. The soup was really tasty. The Fish & Chips which were very tasty and crispy served with homemade Tater Sauce. And we had the Mesquite Smoked Albacore Sandwich, which was home made with grilled sourdough bread, garlic aoli, shaved red onion, toasted walnuts, and organic greens. It was Sooooo Good ! The Sandwich comes with a side of either garlic fries, mixed greens, potato salad, bean salad or regular crispy french fries. We had the regular crispy french fries which were very good. Great Food, Great Service, Great Prices, and Great Views. How can you Top that. The Waterfront Grill on Pier 32 is a must go place for Breakfast, Lunch or Happy Hour. It's worth the visit !More
