Visiting from out town , I picked this restaurant based on the menu and on line reviews . We were very happy with the decision. From the appetizers to the wine list to the main course to dessert everything was top notch . Service was...excellent. Friendly, professional and interested in answering our questions. We asked for jalapeños to go with our steaks , they were unavailable in the kitchen so server went to a neighboring restaurant to get some for us . That is service ! We had steak and scallops, calamari, salad and dessert and all were very good .More

We had dinner on a Saturday night. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered the octopus salad, short ribs, and fresh fish of the day, which was sea bass when we were there. Everything was outstanding. We will definitely go...back next time we're in Napa.More

Bartenders are off the charts and realy know what they are doing! Very friendly, open late which is really critical in Napa. May be the only place open after 10pm!

The restaurant is nice, felt clean and cute. Service was a slow, drinks didn't arrive until we were done with our cocktails and my friend's salmon was completely raw, my husband ordered his lamb medium rare and it showed up medium to medium well. Maybe...it was an off night, But disappointing when spending that much on a meal. My meal was good, but overall not the best experience.More

Great ambiance, good food, overall cool place for date night, couples’ night, or even family night. Wanted to try this place a few visits ago so this time I was determined to make it happen. The food is delish and offers a variety of different...cuisine. They have everything from pasta, burgers, steak, seafood….it’s endless and everyone is sure to find something they like. Our group had a few cocktails which were good, but we also brought a bottle of champagne, and the corkage is $20. Service was great. Forgot our servers name but he and his team were very attentive, granted it was super busy. Parking can be a challenge since it’s downtown, but it’s not the worst. Our family drove up from San Francisco and arrived in the afternoon. Since we couldn’t get into our room until four o’clock we opted for an early dinner. We felt fortunate to get into Carpe Diem. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. Maggie was...an excellent waitress. We had short ribs and the chefs choice. Great dining experience from beginning to end. Highly recommend.More

Horrible hostess and management. We walked in looking for a table and the hostess said we have one give us a sec to set it up, so we sat to wait. Hostess walks back and says, someone sat at your table so looks like you...have to leave. I said, but you should kick them out because it’s our table right. She says, “it’s really first come, first serve.” And kicked us out. The most disrespectful experience I’ve had in Napa.More

We enjoyed this place and their outdoor seating was very warm and comfortable, with one open side for lots of fresh air. Our server, Rene, was attentive and fun to talk with. I ordered the Beet & Green Bean Salad and it was delicious (on...the small side, but that's what I wanted). My husband ordered the Pasta Bolognese and it was delicious (there was plenty and we both worked on it). We ordered a bottle of Trinchero "Mario's Vineyard" and it was so good, as expected. My husband ended dinner with a Cappuccino. All in all, a very good experience. We recommend and we will be back.More

Good food nothing super special. Great service. But very loud environment. If you looking for a quiet intimate place this is not it.

What a hidden little gem... Since COVID began, it seems that service at restaurants has suffered greatly... Not at Carpe Diem. The food came out quickly and tasted fantastic. The service was spectacular. We could not have enjoyed it more. Thank you for giving us...a great experience!More

Spontaneous trip to Napa, from curbside, Carpe Diem looked warm, inviting on a rainy weekday evening. Seated quickly, our orders taken and the food on the table faster than one might expect. I had scallops - almost nicely done, with one being quite under-cooked. Delicious...heirloom tomatoes salad. "Marys chicken", interesting flavors and very nicely cooked. Creme brulee ... this, not so good; a bit 'eggy' with a faint layer of sugar on top, resulting in a disappointing dessert. Nice after dinner coffee. Not sure we'll try to return.More

The food was outstanding! We ordered the octopus salad (the octopus was cooked perfectly), the roasted wild mushroom flatbread, the Ostrich Burger (this was amazing) and the truffle fries. The service was very good they got a little mixed up with our order but they...came through and we had a perfect dinner.More
