Nothing fancy particularly and of course it is bear themed but it did not disappoint. The food was generous and delicious. Service was very friendly and our server was in the process of training a new employee. It's your basic home style food which is a nice change from burgers. The chocolate pie was yummy and if you like lots... More

We were a party of six. They pushed some tables together and made us feel welcome. Their menu offers something for everybody. I was in the mood for an omelet, and found a nice selection. Others had full entrees with meat. potato and vegetables. The servers were friendly, helpful and served everyone the correct plate. They also made sure all... More

We have eaten at Black Bear Diner numerous times, so I can hardly believe that I have not written up a review until now. I guess it's because BBD has been our close-to-home, default location when we are too tired or lazy to choose something else. What prompted me was our most recent experience, where it seemed as though they... More

Gourmets might be disappointed, but forest-themed atmosphere is delightful. Breakfast eggs missed the mark, but pleasant waiter was willing to replace with ones that matched those ordered. Decent food for the price, since Napa is not known for restaurants with bargain prices.

Three hungry guys each had a very hardy lunch, within an hour and the total was less than I could have expected. I wolfed down their BLAST, an exceptionally fresh take on a BLT with avocado and was unable to finish the fries. Generous portions! Don't miss this, your wallet will thank you.

We stumbled on to a Black Bear Diner in Reno and were so happy to see another one in Napa. Wow, what an awesome breakfast they service. Lots of food for not a lot of $$. One of the best values we've found. And the food is GOOD! Service is fast and efficient. The ambience is cute rugged outdoorsy. We'll... More

We had a inexpensive, large and yummy breakfast after a camping trip over memorial day. The food was good, perfect to the order, and the biscuits are sky high!

First time at one of these restaurants. Had lunch on way to BottleRock festival. Huge menu selection, breakfast all day. Big portions (if you like that) for good price. Staff was pleasant and attentive, service was quick. Salad was fresh. Wife enjoyed breakfast items, including some fruit to balance the bacon & eggs. I tried the Cubano - just OK,... More

A decent menu, good home cooking, and lots of food. The do have a "Little Less" menu, that has a half dozen of the menu items in smaller portions. The smaller portions were more than enough for us.
