Trish and I had just finished a tasting at Back Room Wines when we both decided that we needed burgers for dinner. First choice: Norman Rose. Hoped it wasn't too crowded on a Friday night. As Trish parked the car, I was lucky to score us a deuce in a busy Rose. Server Rebecca was right with us, and brought... More

My husband arrived in Napa late after a long flight and were tired and hungry. We were staying at the Andaz across the street from Norman Rose Tavern. What a great surprise! The atmosphere is great. A lively crowd with a nice bar. But the food was the best part. We started with the hit spinach and goat cheese appetizer.... More

Fried egg sandwich was the best! Soup of the day was very good. Mac and cheese was fair. Service was fair. Comfortable restaurant.

I have been all over Ireland eating fish and chips...and these rival any I had there. The crust is light and flavorful...4 pieces of fish and a pile of chips. Our waitress was good...perhaps a B. When we were there, it was busy...and we didn't seem to have just one person checking on us. Once she forgot that we had... More

Terrible service. The vegetable soup we ordered was cold with very few vegetables. The waiter was slow with our order and did not check on us very often. In addition, the food portions were not equal among tables. For example, the table next to us got three scoops of ice cream on their apple cranberry tart, while we only got... More

I will probably never again have a fried egg sandwich as good as I had at the Norman Rose Tavern and for dinner, how great!

Description
Located in the heart of downtown Napa's West End District, the Norman Rose Tavern is that comfortable spot where you can meet family and friends for a nice cocktail, pint or glass of wine paired with a great burger and fries or other classic, American comfort food. The menu takes a local, sustainable approach to time-honored dishes like fish & chips, fried chicken, chop salad, mac and cheese, and much more, all prepared utilizing the fresh, seasonal and quality ingredients found in the North Bay. The design offers a rustic pub feel with modern touches created by Kimberly Nunn and Dan Worden of Shopworks in Napa. The thoughtful beverage list sports a collection of cocktails, wines and beers that soar two or three levels above most, with many outstanding and well priced Napa Valley wines. The by-the-glass list is impressive as well with over twenty wines by the glass. An extensive spirits list featuring classic cocktails round out the offerings.
