We wanted to get back to our room and ordered dinner to go. They packed it for easy carry and the dinner was still hot when we got to our room. And always delicious.

Six of us had dinner on the patio. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The meatloaf and crab mac n cheese were exceptional. Service was quick and the restaurant was packed. I was surprised that they closed at 8:00 p.m.

Really enjoyed our evening at the Alchemy, which was recommended by the owner of CourtWood Inn where we were staying. The food was good. I had a great vegetarian option and we particularly liked the atmosphere - there was a live band playing the night we were there. We particularly appreciated the low key (but still excellent) service which allowed... More

I am spoiled when it comes to great cuisine after living in the San Francisco Bay Area for 59 years, but thrilled to discover Alchemy serves up fabulous fresh fish choices and one of the best meatloaves! The STAR of the "dinner show" are the creative and beautifully displayed desserts!! You have to order the coconut cream pie...stands about 6"... More

We enjoyed a nice lunch at Alchemy; we chose to sit inside, there is a patio if you want to sit outside also. After you order, they bring you a basket of hot garlic/cheese bread that is topped with kernels of corn, AND IS AMAZING (the bread should receive FIVE STARS!). I had a pasta with chicken and a pesto... More

Alchemy is a refuge from the heat of Calaveras County, and the scrumptious food they serve is a surprise. A (candied?) hibiscus in a glass of local bubbly is a wonderful twist on kir royale. The bread is wonderful, the burgers are great, and the salads fresh, if a touch heavy on dressing and cheese. The fries, however, tasted as... More

We had a nice dinner at Alchemy and would have given it 3 1/2 starts if we could have. Both of us had a salmon and mushroom rotini, and it was very good. The portion was enormous. For dessert we shared an unusual coconut cream pie that was abou eight inches high. It was tasty but more than the two... More

I have never toasted meatloaf - meatloaf! - that tasted anything like this before. I have threatened others at the table with sharp implements for their share of the garlic bread. An excellent menu, beer and wine selections.

I had the fish special when I went there for dinner. It was excellent, and our server was very likeable and gracious. I thought the prices were a bit on the high side, but the food was well worth it!
