Being British myself , I found my self embarrassed by the total fiasco we encountered this afternoon in this establishment . We waited 50 mins after having our name added to a waiting list for food only to then be told they had stopped serving having let unlisted guests take others reserved seats . We asked to see the manager... More

After hiking at Muir Woods, we came upon this fun find! Cute atmosphere that reminded us of our recent trip to Scotland. We ordered drinks - alcohol menu consists of beer and wine- and then sat outside on their patio. We also ordered oysters and a cheese tray. Both were tasty. 4 drinks were $20 and the oysters were $18... More

We stayed at the Pelican Inn and ate both dinner and breakfast there. Dinner was very good. I had the salmon and my husband had the fish and chips. Both were very good and the service was attentive but not cloying. We had the English breakfast which was good with large portions.

I had the lamb steak and my husband had beef Wellington. They were extraordinary! Amazing accompaniments with both that made the flavor shout! The service was amazing. Out of the ordinary and nestled in the woods after traveling through the winding cliff hanger roads. Don't drink too much Guinness if you are driving home!

Great dark pub atmosphere inside and sunny, enclosed patio and lovely gardens outside. The hubby and I both enjoyed the breakfast buffet - he particularly enjoyed the bacon and beans. I love the hash and scones with raspberry preserves and fresh butter.

We stopped by after hiking in Muir Woods. We were wet and cold, so their quick service of beef tenderloin stew was welcome. Eating in the pub was quick and economical. Old building and somewhat dated, but warm.

A+ for ambiance. Inside looks like Harry Potter movies. Lunch was the Shepherds Pie and the Porabello Mushroom sandwich. Quite pricey for what you get. $14 and $18 dollars. Sheperd's Pie was ground lamb, peas and carrots and lacking seasoning. Served in cereal bowl with about 3/4" of 'filling" and over 2" of mashed potatoes with melted cheddar cheese on... More

A great little restaurant in Muir Woods! Our group of 6 shared a cheese appetizer plate (should have ordered 2) and wine before dinner. However, one turned out to be more than enough because the dinner portions were generous. 4 in our group had the lamb roast with pomegranate sauce, and it was the best lamb I have ever eaten!... We often go to the Pelican Inn after going to Muir beach. It is a quaint place that has been there for many many years. Get an afternoon tea or stay for lunch or dinner. A must stop if you are in this neck of the woods.

We stopped in after a morning spent at Muir Beach. AMAZING. Felt like a little piece of Europe right there off the coast. Authentic and old fashioned. Fish and chips were to die. We want to go back and stay there for a weekend!
