Wanted some quick Mexican food. They have three sizes of Burrito, regular, large and new born baby size. They have a good selection of meat, type of beans, Spanish rice and all the items you would ever want to add to a burrito. So you decide what is included in your burrito, some cost you more like sour cream and... More

This place is wonderful. The burritos are the best that I have had. Husband almost ordered the super burrito until he came around the cooler and saw the sizes represented on the wall and stepped it back one. Fresh everything and the guacamole is a great added side to munch on. We will definitely be coming back, a lot!! A... More

Been a fan for many years. New location just happens to be on my way home from work. The new location has a nice seating area and parking - much more like a real place than the previous place which was hidden in the back of a grocery store. Get the Chicken Mole with everything! Generous sizes - I usually... More

The burritos are really huge and reasonably priced, but lack a bit of flavor. More like a chipotle the like an authentic taqueria, no free chips and salsa bar which my family really enjoys.

Ilaria, We know that the flavor is the best part about Mexican food, so we'd never want our food to be anything less than delicious. Since we must pay the rent we have to charge for chips and salsa. Thank you for bringing this to our attention -- we'll definitely keep it in mind. Hope to make it up to... More

Had a great family dinner and tried burrito, quesadillas and tacos. Everything was great, very reasonable prices. Interior is low key.

i used to go to la costena and nearby la bamba regularly when i worked in mountain view about 20 years ago. haven't been back there in years, but the overall result is still good, although the old grocery store certainly had more ambience, in a gritty immigrant sort of way, and it just felt more mexican. the burritos are... They have moved to the southern end of Mt. View, away from Palo Alto. It is now more of a restaurant than a grocery store, booths and outside seating. Orders are now placed rather than walking through and pointing out what you want. The food was excellent as always, and we remarked how fresh the vegetables tasted. I hope they... More

For those who loved the old La Costena, you will not like the new one! For us, it used to very close to our home & is now some distance away. Then after driving the extra distance, we were sorely disappointed! You can't see the toppings choices - they are in the back. Plus my favorite - quesadilla with carne... More

Their burritos are incredible! It is no wonder why they were voted Best of Mountain View 2013 by the Voice. Note, they have moved to a new location. La Costena is now at 235 East Middlefield Road (cross street Whisman Road), Mountain View, CA 94043. New telephone (650) 967-0507. They now have a new look that has greatly improved over... More

I think La Costena has slipped some. We started taking out burritos around 2000 and they were super consistent and an excellent value. Well, prices are up, and either the quality has slipped or the competition has stepped it up - either way, the value equation doesn't work as well as it used to. Had the Carne Asada Super Burrito...
