Delicious pancakes and huckleberry milkshakes. Friendly staff with a view of Mt. Shasta. Relatively busy location.

Passed this place and was starved, I generally avoid places that have the rustic look. But, my grand daughter wanted to give it a try. We went in, got seated and was able to order quickly. I ordered, my old standby in such places, hot open faced turkey sandwich with mashed pitatoes. It was better than most places I've been... More
We've eaten a few times at another location of Black Bear so we figured it would be the same. Menu was the same but the food was bland. I had an omlette with 4 kinds of meat, onions and spinach along with 2 cheeses and it had absolutely no taste. It was decent sized, a bit overcooked but completely without... More
Don't get the scrambled eggs..every time they taste weird. I don't know if they are dehydrated or what..learned so I get them fried. Like Denny's you can depend on it not being anything special but a sit down meal.
Stopped in at the suggestion of friends, and we were very glad that we did. The extensive menu offered good portions at reasonable prices. There was even a menu supplement with good nutritional information which was helpful with diet limitations. We found the food to be quite delicious, and the service was good. We will definitely visit other Black Bear... More
Great breakfasts! Try the Volcano- it'll fill you up! Restaurant is small and can get crowded on weekends and holidays, but worth the wait! Friendly hometown staff make it enjoyable!
The food here is always good, but the service remains bad. waitress was distracted, rude, and only at the table to take our order and then to drop the check. We like the food and the original location, but prefer to eat at the Auburn, CA location where the service is better..
What can I say, I've fallen in love with Black Bear Diners and this one didn't let me down. Friendly service, wonderful food and a great price. I love that you feel that the whole staff is making sure you have a good visit. I hate trying to catch the eye of one particular servor. Here, it felt like everyone... More
