Cafe Gibraltar was the best restaurant on the coast; Jose Luis was an inspired and tireless chef; but the restaurant is no more. Sadly.

Cafe Gibraltar is out of the way and missed by many visitors. It is on the frontage road that parallels Highway 1, but worth the detour. They also cater.

Wonderful Mediterranean restaurant. Flavor, flavor, flavor! I have never had a less-than-memorable meal there.

A lovely restaurant with great food, with wonderful service and decor.. The co-owner/host (Liam) was very personable and truly engaged in our dinner, which was part of an anniversary weekend in Half Moon Bay. We dined in one of four open "booths" with floor seating (on pillows). One of the most relaxing meals I have ever had and resulted in... More

this is one of those restaurants who will not seat you at a table without a reservation even when the restaurant is only one third full. My wife and I arrived at about 6PM on a Thursday night. There were very few diners but they only would seat us at the bar. We asked when we could get a reservation... More

Can be great with friends or for an intimate romantic dinner (choose the booth).Great choices for fresh seafood, vegetarian, teak, or lamb specials. Their sampler platter is a good appetizer choice. Save room for the creme brule or tangerine sorbet. All fresh local ingredients. Can be busy on weekends. Only open for dinner. Mid week is very pleasantly quiet, food... More

Cafe Gibraltar is just a short 10 minute drive up the coast from Half Moon Bay. A little hard to find, so use your GPS. The food is a bit eclectic, but mostly middle eastern, but the quality!! Every dish we had was outstanding and fresh, the taste combinations stimulating, the preparation excellent. It is considered the finest restaurant on... More

This is my favorite restaurant on the coast. The delicious crudos are whatever fish is the most fresh, combined with subtle herbs and spices, every entree is distinctive and the desserts are worth saving space for.

We had a great dinner at Cafe Gibraltar. We got to sit at one of the Moroccan style tables. For our meal we ordered the Accara (black eyed peas fritters), which were fried and a little dense and not really what I was expecting, the artichoke soup, which was good, and my husband had the Crudo, which he enjoyed. For... More
