I now know why their food rating is B. Caught them serving their food to customers from bowls sitting on the kitchen floor. Took pictures and made complaint to Health Dept. No excuse for this unhealthful practice. They refused to correct it. NEVER EVER EAT...THERE.More

Whenever I’m in the Monterey Park Area, Tasty Garden is always on my list of places to eat! I love the decor and the nice comfy booths with purple cushions. Service, for the most part, is good. They have a great menu with a variety...of both Chinese and American dishes! There is lots to choose from. On this visit, I had the grilled beef short ribs and my partner had the combo with chicken and pork chops. These entrees included your choice of starch as well as two sides. Their lemon tea is so delicious and refreshing! They open very late so it makes it convenient to grab a bite to eat after a long day of shopping or sightseeing or after arriving on a late evening flight. After dinner, it’s nice to walk around and visit the numerous shops near by.More

This place had an excellently prepared dish. I took some home as leftovers and they were really good even after being reheated. My son and I split a plate of cucumbers, which were very tasty. I was visiting my son, who usually goes to the...Tasty Garden in Pasadena, but goes here as well. We stopped by twice, but I had eaten on the second trip and so only had a banana split. I did taste my son's beef with fat noodles (I forget the name) and they were good enough that the next time I come I will have them as a main dish even though I usually do not order beef dishes.More

Just off the highway outside of LA heading east, Monterey Park is newest tradition for us. The Mall off Atlantic avenue provides free underground parking, and an ample number of shops and restaurants. We were probably the only anglos there for lunch, but felt right...at home. Clean and bright, the menu was substantial. We ordered the french shrimp with basil and the orange beef, which were accompanied by a bowl of rice. Shrimp sauce was light and slightly spice. Orange beef while not quite crispy was tasty. Lemon tea was served in what seemed to be cowboy boot glasses. Great experienceMore

When our family first started going to Tasty Garden almost 10 years ago, we went to the flagship restaurant in Temple City so I was thrilled when the one in Monterey Park at Atlantic Square opened since it's almost walking distance from our residence. The...French-style Beef and French-style Shrimp "were" pure nirvana. We just went back for Father's Day after too long of an absence (maybe over a year) and I couldn't believe how poor the quality had become. The shrimp and beef were both fresh but the preparation was way off. The amazing flavor that I had experienced in so many prior trips was gone. I'm not sure what it was, but it was like there was a missing ingredient or sauce in each of the dishes. Did the usual chef take Father's Day off? I did notice that there were several more locations that I was unaware of. Possibly with the expansion, there was not sufficient training of the chefs? I don't know, but we were all very disappointed.More

This Chinese restaurant offered menu that are slightly different than the traditional Chinese restaurant. I was there for lunch with several friends. The ambience of the restaurant is casual but with slightly different atmosphere. The staff were friendly and cordial. I had the grilled fish...fillet with seasonal vegetable. The fish fillet were cooked OK and flavorful. The portion was on the large side. There were several menu choices for fish fillet. I will definitely come back and try them.More

Went with a group of six. Similar menu to the one in Irvine. All was good and cheap. I did like the Kong Pou Chicken at the Irvine location better. Service was fast and friendly. Food came out together and fast. We ordered a couple...of dishes and shared. The food is traditional and better to know what you are ordering as to not be disappointed. There are some things I can't look at let alone eat but my guests chowed down on everything.More

We ordered a shrimp dish which was ok and a pork dish that was so fatty we couldn't eat it. The wait staff was not friendly. The manager did come by to ask if everything was ok, and we told him about the fatty pork....He said that sometimes this happens, and we appreciated that he took this off our bill.More

While shopping at Shun-Fat supermarket, I noticed a nice courtyard with restaurants. It was very late, like 9:30pm and we were so hungry. The place was full somewhat with a younger crowd and it looked intriguing. With the sign OPEN we tried it. Wow! What...an eclectic trendy place in the positive sense of the terms. Very nice and modern decor with purple comfortable chairs and couches everywhere, nice walls and modern purple chandeliers. For a Chinese restaurant, it is very cool and trendy. Loved it! The food was pleasant as well. We had the Singapore Style Chow Fun, the Baked Seafood, and the Pork Chop with Peking Sauce. The Singapore Style Chow Fun are noodles with chicken and shrimp. Very tasty but not many pieces of chicken or shrimp. It was mostly noodles. The Baked Seafood reminded me of a lasagna dish. Very good and tasty. Not an Asian dish. However the same we were looking for the seafood in the dish. The Pork Chop with Peking sauce was OK. Too many little pointy bones in it. So was afraid to eat it. Overall a good place for a younger Chinese crowd. Eclectic and different. I only wished they put more meat in their dishes. Then it would be a 5 stars.More

Got here around 2:30pm, parking was a pain but at least it's free. It's located by 24 hrs Fitness. The restaurant was not busy, we were seated right away. We sat by the window on a comfy purple couch. We ordered chow fun, fried rice...and spaghetti with lunch special drinks ($1.95). Food came in a timely manner but the bake pork-chop spaghetti was a bit disappointing. Otherwise everything else taste good and free refill on drinks. They also accept WeChat pay and Ali pay.More
