Very small breakfast dinner. Could not fault the food at all and it is a quirky place but it is kinda expensive for what you get. Inside is super cramped so I would advise getting table outside if possible. Staff are really friendly and quality...More

Having wanted to enjoy a special breakfast on a special day, LouLou's was the perfect choice. I had dined there numerous times but my wife was a first timer. Our breakfast was tasty and very filling. The hubcap size pancake was enough for a meal...More

We visited here for lunch based on trip advisor. The service really was very nice. The place had a fun feel to it and the location on the wharf was great. Really wanted it to be good, but the food was lacking. We got the...More

We had breakfast at Loulou’s during a coastal trip while visiting Monterey/Carmel. This small restaurant feels like an old-fashioned diner, which we found to be interesting. Perhaps going on a Wednesday morning (we first tried Tuesday but it was closed), decreases the wait time and...More

The wait for a table was around 25 minutes but it was worth it. Really authentic local diner on the pier. Great location, rustic charm and amazing food. The portions are huge, the pancakes are insane. So big but so worth it and the omelette...More

LouLou's is small, crowded and worth every minute. We were directed here by one of the guides on the whale watching boat. It is hard to fit 7 people in anywhere, but it only took them about 15 minutes to get us in and we...More

Every now and then I'll look for a restaurant covered by DDD and see if it happens to be in the area that I'm working in. LouLou's in Monterey Bay, CA was on the list, so I thought I'd give it a try. It's a...More

We had reached Monterey after a long drive from San Francisco. Hot and hungry. The breakfast was most enjoyable and the chilled beer quenched our thirst. Would love to visit again !

Hubcap sized pancakes are wonderful. I love the bacon - thick and chewy. Be prepared to wait a bit at peak times and be sure they are open before you go. Extremely friendly people waiting on the tables. The view is lovely, but you do...More

Don't really know; it's a very small place so I assume the kitchen is small

Description
Loulou's Griddle in the Middle is the tiny diner on Wharf #2. We always say we're "tiny but mighty." We cook with a lot of heart, soul, and deep care about every detail. We aim to make your experience comfortable, fun, delicious, and a little like being at a home-away-from-home. The kitchen is open so you can see our chefs preparing right in front of you. Our community of customers--both local and visitors from far away--also make Loulou's special. We bend over backwards to accomodate your requests, when we can, and we might crown you with a tiara if your requests are many....but all in fun. The diner opened in 1948, so it's rich with history. We're blessed with one customer, Henry, who has been coming EVERY morning since 1948 and he's earned a customized stool, a plaque, his own coffee mug, and a warm place in our hearts.
