Ate at Fish Hopper twice on a 3-day stay in Monterey. Outstanding food and service. Great location just to hang out in the bar and take in the view. Or for a nice dinner.

We pretty much come here every time we visit The aquarium because my daughter loves it so much. However, the food is just average. You are paying for the view, which really is quite good.

I was not extremely hungry, so I had the Fish & Chips, which were very good, and about the cheapest meal on the menu. The 18oz Bone-In Ribeye was enjoyed by another table member. While all the food was good, the prices seemed extremely high. The views in the location are great, even for the tables not close to the... More

When visiting Monterey, my husband and I always bring an ice chest so we can get clam chowder from the Fish Hopper to bring home with us and freeze, as their clam chowder was always the best. Before doing so this time, we had lunch, which included having a cup of chowder. Unfortunately, the chowder is not nearly as good... More

I went to the restaurant about 30 minutes before closing time. There were only about 5 tables with customers so it was not busy at all. The hostess sat our party of 4 down at a table with a beautiful night time view of the bay. But, after we were seated we sat and waited.....and waited....and waited. Other waiters made... More

Birthday dinner. Had fresh sea bass and halibut. Shrimp ceviche was featured appetizer. Shrimp were large and very flavorful. Crab cakes were good with an excellent mango papaya salsa. Wine list good and reasonable priced by the glass. Dessert was gratis and the key lime cheesecake was outstanding. Our server Lolita was good. Very smooth service. This restaurant is also... More
