My husband and I were looking for a reasonably-priced place for lunch while visiting the aquarium. The Fish Hopper had a chalkboard sign outside which showed some reasonable prices, like $9 for fish n' chips. So we went in and were seated in a nice, semi-enclosed porch right on the water. It was a beautiful setting, which we appreciated. However,... More

Whenever my wife and I visit the Cannery Row area of Monterey we always have lunch at the Fish Hopper. We have never had a bad experience, and this is no exception. We had a great lunch, wonderful service and perfect view of the bay. I always try to write a review when we travel. Whether it was a good... More

This restaurant was great, we had a very nice server who was attentive. We had a great bay view from our table. The lunch we had of calamari steak and fish and chips was to die for. The warm sourdough break coupled with the herb butter was wonderful. We will most definitely go back to this restaurant when in the... More

Can't recommend Fish Hopper enough. Great view over looking the water, exceptional service and delicious food. I had the 14oz New York Steak & Dungeness stuffed crab prawns with potato gratin & asparagus. Possibly the best meal I've ever had, well worth the money! Nicki our waitress was outstanding with her service.

This is a review of the walk up order service only. Fish Hopper is a large dining room but we did not enter. Just outside the main entrance they have a bar area where you can order a small menu of items to go. We ordered some bread bowls with Clam Chowder, calamari, fresh fruit cups, and drinks. All of... Despite its lower rating than Sea Harvest (see my review for a comparison), and the fact that Fish Hopper is in a location that just screams "tourist trap", I decided to go here on a local's recommendation. Glad I did, too. The seared Ahi was very good, and the accompanying roasted vegetables and rice were excellent. The deserts are a... More

My partner and I are from Australia and were travelling through Monterey tonight and stopped in at The Fish Hopper. We ordered the calamari as a shared appetiser 10/10 without a doubt. My partner had baby back ribs and prawns for main. The meat fell off the bone. He LOVED it and said it was the best meal he has... More

The Fish Hopper came highly recommended by the hotel staff where we were staying. They raved about the clam chowder, and that was all unneeded to know. So we decided to go check it out on our way to the aquarium. I went with my wife and our two year old twins for lunch and they were so incredibly kind... More

We just ate at the Fish Hopper. Now, this restaurant used to be good, but I believe it is going down hill. Pros: Ambience. Cons: 1. freezing outside, and windows were open. We had to ask to have the windows closed. 2. Waiter gave us bread and just one piece of butter. 3. Waitress rude. My husband asked her to... More
