Went stopped in on a busy Saturday (Brighten the harbor boat parade) Food tasted great and good value. Roxanne was attentive and gave great suggestions even though she was busy. Save room for dessert. hand stuffed cannoli was a real treat.

The wharf is a bit touristy and thst made us cynical. But we were hungry after whale watching and the boat crew recommended here. I'm glad we went. Very tasty food. The clam chowder was big enough for hungry teenage boys; the Dungeness crab cakes...were delicious. But the best was the tomato salad - the best tomato I have had in USA. They actually had taste ;) Grown on the owners plot and tasted like Italy or Spain. Obviously, thst is seasonal, but if I am in the area in summer IO'd go back just for the tomato salad.More

Excellent dinner for my family and great views of the water. Clam chowder in a bread bowl baked with cheese and garlic was awesome. Our server was the best part - she was truly excellent. She said she had been working there for 20+ years...so knew the history of the restaurant and area (for example, gave us the story about why the building is leaning). One member of our party has gluten and dairy allergies, and she knew the menu inside/out and what would be ok to eat, making substitutions when necessary. Most times we go to restaurants we get a blank stare from the server when asking about dishes that are both gluten AND dairy free, but not here.More

We eat here during mist visits to Monterey and it’s always delicious! This time we had the Lasagne and filet of sole which were both very good, fresh, tasty and hot. We started off with crab cakes. We like eating outside and did so this...trip too. We would recommend this place for lunch or dinner.More

One on the better places on Wharf #1. Good food and good service. I have been there about five times in the past four years and it is always good.

came highly recommended by Chris' Whale tour. Nice NE style clam chowdah in a bread bowl. The bread bowl is definitely a CA thing. Good tasting chowdah but needed a bit more chunks of clams, celery. And serve with hot sauce! Roxanne was awesome, friendly...and attentive. the outdoor seat was great for human watching although much of that view might make you lose your appetite (or help you opt for healthier choices). Heard they have a great fish n chips too. Definitely worth a try. Oh and cost? Yeah it's CA and it's all expensive, sooo... yeah. Nothing in CA is worth what you have to pay, but if you chose to, don't complain.More

Went during the week and had no problem getting outdoor seating. The fish and chips were excellent as was the lobster tail. The crab cake was delicious and highly recommend it. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Started with a prickly pear cactus margarita which was fun and different. You gotta try the fresh beets and goat cheese salad which was out of this world. The salmon pizza, 8” and big enough for two, was delicious and had a lovely crust. For...dessert we shared a delicate chocolate mousse topped with strawberries and cream. We really liked the outdoor seating. Each table was separated by plexiglass and had a heater. The service was excellent.More

We were given a recommendation to dine at Cafe Fina by Colleen, Marine Biologist, of the Monterrey Whale Watch Co. She said to drop our Captain’s name for a free appetizer. We were greeted by the owner of Cafe Fina. He briefly discussed some menu...items for us and his pronunciation of menu items in “proper” Italian were a clear indication to me that we were in for a great dining experience. The server, Javier, was so cordial and delivered amazing service. The food was exquisite. We sat outside because the weather couldn’t have been more inviting. We started with crab cakes, garlic bread then clam chowder and split the seafood Paella and ended it with crème brûlée. AMAZING FOOD! Thanks Colleen!More

We went whale watching at Chris' Whale watch. They recommended Cafe Fina. So we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere when we went in was warm and the inviting. It had an old world appeal. The people there were friendly and we were...welcomed promptly. The Food: The menu had a great selection of entrées, appetizers, soups and salads, as well as drinks. I ordered the fish and chips with a cup of clam chowder for just a few dollars more. My wife had a oven roasted cheeseburger. We ordered calamari as an appetizer. The calamari was fried in a light batter and was served with cocktail and tartar sauces. Both of which were house made. The tartar sauce was especially delicious. The cheeseburger was very good, cooked to the designated doneness, had a garnish with fresh vegetables. It was served with french fries. They were cooked to a golden brown and made for a great presentation companion. The clam chowder was house made and was very good. The consistency was perfect, and the clam pieces were large enough to give it that heartyiness one looks for in a chowder. The fish and chips came with those beautiful golden yellow french fries mentioned earlier. The fish was perfectly battered, and the fish pieces were generous in size. The flavor of the batter was so good, I didnt remember the tartar sauce until I was almost finished. They also make a good cup of coffee. The music in the back ground provided the perfect atmosphere for such an amazing meal. If you are in Monterey, I highly recommend you make a stop at Cafe Fina. It will brighten a lesser day, and make a great day even greater.More

I haven't dined at Cafe Fina for nearly 6 months which is far too long since this restaurant has been a favorite of ours for over 30 years! Today, for a late lunch, I started with a fabulous Classic Caesar Salad with homemade croutons that...were crunchy and delicious. I then enjoyed the simply amazing Vegetarian Pizza with tomato sauce, pesto, artichokes, red onion, mushrooms, roasted peppers and mozzarella on a fluffy, light and crispy crust from their wood burning brick oven. Incredible!!! For my husband, I took home the always fabulous Prawn Scampi over Angel Hair Pasta, with tomatoes, mushrooms green onions and artichokes in a great garlic, butter and white wine sauce. Very flavorful. I also enjoyed their famous cannoli with chocolate chips that was the perfect dessert! The service was attentive with the wonderful Roxanne, her staff and I was glad to see Dominic, the owner, as well. This restaurant is highly, highly recommended!More

Difficult choice going down the wharf, we picked the place because it is small, and the price a little higher than the rest. The decision was good. We had the sourdough bread clam chowder, if was excellent, as was the service.

I have enjoyed dining at Cafe Fina on Monterey's Old Fisherman's Wharf for over 30 years and have always enjoyed the experience. I have sent friends and family to this landmark restaurant which features incredible food. Their consistent use of superior quality ingredients, delicious recipes...and outstanding customer service with gorgeous views of the Monterey Harbor and the busy Wharf itself for great people watching always ensures a wonderful culinary outing. The vegetable pizza is just one of our favorites. Due to the Pandemic, Cafe Fina is now offering their Cafe Fina Family Feast which is a great option for all of us. It is what I describe as an authentic "Taste of Italy" perfect for the whole family. The reasonably priced dinner for 2 includes a choice of several fresh pasta types, a great flavorful tomato sauce, 4 meatballs and an optional wood roasted sausage which we ordered that was great, a crisp Caesar Salad, as well as their famous Calamari Appetizer with two sauces and crispy Garlic Bread. A virtual feast! We chose the dessert option of a tasty and yummy classic Cannoli with extra chocolate chips. I highly recommend the Cafe Fina Family Feast as a wonderful family-pleasing option!More
