We just popped in for a drink on the way back from the beachfront. Happy hour was in full swing, the birdman had stopped for a Margarita and Richard the bartender was working his magic. Rarely have we felt so welcomed. Service and chat was fantastic as were the appetisers. We ended up staying for several hours and headed back... More

Our last meal whilst in Monterey was an enjoyable experience. We only had pizza and side salad, however we did enjoy it. It was a busy resturant, with an added attraction of a small jazz band which added to the atmosphere. Our server was very friendly and eager to please dispite being extremely busy. More expensive than other places we... More

I should have researched this spacious and pleasant restaurant before choosing to eat there. On a Thursday night light crowd there was no excuse for the inattentive service. We waited 10 minutes for the Parmesan for our entrees and I had to ask 3 times to get a water glass refilled. I know, it's California and there's a drought but...... More

I selected this restaurant because they offered jazz at dinnertime and was not disappointed. I made a reservation for 7:00pm on a Sunday in mid-June and we were seated as soon as we arrived. There was a good jazz vocal duo playing that night and music was perfect to accompany dinner: easy to listen to and the correct volume. The... More

I have been here twice now and both times have made me want to come back for more. The dishes are always excellent! I recommend the sautéed spinach or the arugula salad. Service is very good, a little slow when they are very busy but that's to be expected. The live jazz is also a nice treat! Tirimisu is excellent... More

Busy car show weekend but seated quickly. Not rushed during dinner. Food was terrific. I got the wrong entre’ but it was so busy I ate it anyway and it was delicious (not even sure what it was called). I plan to go back when I am in Monterey again.

We were a walk-in one night as we strolled Monterey. 2 adults, 2 kids (9&6). One of the best finds of our California tour. Whilst an upscale restaurant, it is very relaxing and welcoming. Good choice of food - from simple to sophisticated. Recommend. It is a world away from the other restaurant we tried the previous night on the... More

perhaps too much choice but the food was ok and the service was good. A big place so quite noisy and there was live music too. The Italian restaurant on Fishermans Wharf is better.

And my wife got salmon with ketchup! The waiters was so rude he took our place before we finished! We were so insulted by the attitude.
