The restaurant hasn’t got the best decor but the food is tasty and plentiful and the service is really good. If you’re having calamari as a starter you need to know that it’s enormous and very good. We wished we had got it as a...sharing starter.More
I was looking forward to having a pizza at this Italian restaurant.
‘No pizzas’ we were told but only when ordering our meals. We should have been told on arrival.
I ended up having the ribbon pasta with sausage. What a bland meal. It was...inoffensive but completely uninspiring.
Service was efficient but a bit like the food, lacked quality and personality.
Sorry but this place is not somewhere I’d want to come back to.More
Really, wasn't expecting much and was very impressed with the quality of the service and food. The Caesar salad was great and enough to share. The bread was served warm and with lovely oil and vinegar. I enjoyed greatly the ravioli, as did my friends...their seafood entrees. Tables are close together, but on an early Friday evening, this worked out well.More
After days of eating fish in Monterey we wanted something different. I was really in the mood for some Italian food and was recommended by the hotel to go to Cibo. First nice surprise was happy hour with three dollar cocktails. Then a lovely dinner...with fresh pasta with home made sausage. and of course a nice Cesar salad. My wife had a chicken pasta with a cream sauce which she enjoyed. Service was excellent with a nice bottle of Chianti wine.More
We were a table of 6 and it was just starting to allow people back into their establishments. So i would assume they were getting the rust off of the employees. All the staff were super nice and you would sometimes have 2-3 different people...bringing you stuff. The Pizza's looked good, especially the Short Rib Pizza, The Gnocchi Dinner had a great presentation. I got the Bolognese Pasta, it was good not amazing but good. The creme brulee cheesecake was amazing, the Cannoli Not so much had too much of a citrus after taste, wouldn't waste time with that one. Overall decent Italian Restaurant if that is what you are in the mood for. Confident they are going to be amazing now that things are going back to normal. Sorry I didn't take any pictures here!More
Outdoor seating. Try the fire roasted artichoke. Amazing. I had the rigatoni with fresh tomatoes. Excellent. Hubs had a Caesar salad and thin crust pizza. Both were very high quality. But the highlight was our server Milan. He was so nice to two older people...and funny. Plus Hubs left the credit card. Milan remembered we were a staying at the nearby Marriott Hotel. He ran the block and a half and gave the card back to us when we were still in the lobby. Prince of a guy.More
Gluten free pizza! Always a plus as an offering. But overall, I was a bit disappointed. The atmosphere is a bit industrial-feeling. It's on a corner downtown, all business buildings, no real vibe. The service was just ok -- on the slow side, and no...recommendations or chatter from the waiter. The music, however, was excellent; and a treat to hear some nice jazz, not too noisy for conversation even sitting close to the stage. All-in-all, it was.....fine. :)More
We are from stockton, ca and every trip we take to Monterey we stop at Cibo's italian restaurant. This is the only place we eat at when we stay every year. The customer service is great!! When you are greated you are treated like one...of the family. We will be visiting again this Saturday. thank you.More
The atmosphere and service are great.
Some seating outside, and it seemed a popular happy hour spot on a Thursday week night. They had live Jazz and it became busy by 7:30 but still had some seating. The Cesar salad was fresh and tasty. I...had the cheese ravioli with walnuts and artichoke. It was fresh but not as flavorful as I had hoped. The sausage was good, not too spicy. The flavored polenta was a bit too infused with tomato for my taste. I will be back to try other dishes.More
Had dinner here in August this year. Staff were friendly and restaurant was clean and welcoming.
We all had pasta, having had our full of pizzas on our road trip (!) and it was very delicious and well cooked.
Worth a visit - not the...cheapest - but good food so worth it.More
