If you like a casual restaurant with a fun atmosphere, then try the Crown and Anchor. My husband enjoyed his Fish and Chips and I was given a very generous portion of the Chicken Curry. We also loved the dessert. The staff was friendly and attentive. Next time we are in Monterey, we will definitely go back.

Having spent some time in the UK, we're always looking for a good British Pub experience here in the US. I love that you step down below street level to get into this restaurant. The decor is a little over the top, but it's better than some that we've been to. The food was good, and decently authentic as Americanized... More

We found this English Pub walking around downtown Monterey. Absolutely loved the authentic decor of wood paneling, cozy booths, and English memorabilia. Also a great looking bar. Really felt like we were in Great Britain. I had fish and chips, which was pretty good. My husband had Chicken Monterey; very good.We both really loved this cute place and highly recommend... More

Stopped in for a late night light meal. The British theme is well displayed and lively. The service was friendly and quick. Price was fine for what we ordered. Would come back for a real pub meal next time.

get your English on in this British themed restaurant with bar. Lots of British themed decor, and menu follows. A loud and fun place, prices reasonable too.

The very worst service experienced in Monterey. Service was rude, slow, and of poor quality. Will not go back.

This is a nice an fairly authentic British style pub. Hats off with their selection of beers. The service was very good. I measure pubs by their fish & chips, and this was a big disappointment. A redeeming food was the "curry fries" - their trademark according to my traveling associates.All-in-all, probably would give another pub a shot at my... More

This restaurant is perhaps the best in Monterey. There are the touristy lot on the Wharf and down in Carmel, but this place serves simply superb food and has the service to support it. This is primarily a steak restaurant (though they do have seafood) and my filet was some of the best beef I have ever had. Cut-it-with-your-fork tender... More

So much food!!! This place was such a good "meat and potatoes" joint. Cool eclectic decor and really amazing British food. Bangers and mash were amazing as were the curried wedges! My husband had the cottage pie. His was good, but not as good as mine :) Great pub atmosphere!
