English Fish & Chips
Tender white & flaky Icelandic cod dipped in our own special light beer batter & fried to a crispy golden brown served w/ English cut chips & tartar sauce. This dish was traditionally served wrapped in newspaper, but due to the unavailability of British Newspaper we are unable to carry on this tradition.

Plymouth Platter
A combination of Icelandic cod, calamari, scallop & prawn. Dipped in our special beer batter & deep fried until golden brown. Served w/ thick English cut chips & tartar sauce. The pilgrims set sail from Plymouth, England in the year 1620 on the 180 ton Mayflower, reaching Cape Cod two & a half months later they supplemented their mediocre diet by catching seafood, thus the Plymouth Platter.

Drakes' Calamari & Chips
Tenderized calamari deep fried in our special beer batter & served pub style w/ tartar sauce & cocktail sauce. In 19934 an aged oddley shaped bottle was found on Monterey's Fanshell Beach - inside they discovered a Queen Elizabeth I silver six pence & a lead scroll. W as it thrown overboard from the "GOLDEN HIND" when SIR FRANCIS DRAKE anchored in Monterey Bay in 1579 or was it left to pay for his calamari?

Have the English pork sausage in a roll with onions - delicious! A bit of a disappointing "Cornish" pasty - still tasty with the brown sauce, but not as you would expect to find at home - a bit "flat" and not enough potato. All...More

They had very good fish and chips, but I do think it’s slightly overpriced. Was seated pretty quickly and it was decently quiet. Food didn’t take too long to arrive. If the food wasn’t as expensive I’d probably come back next time. It is right...More

We took a night away from the kids in our group and went to the pub. This was a fun place with good drinks and good honest pub grub. Very fun to find an English style pub in such a place as Monterey.

My friend and I wanted to eat light(er), so we ordered clam chowder and shared curried mussels. Magic! The mussels were quite large, but not overcooked as can happen. And the curry sauce was delicious.

Felt like being back in the UK. Very authentic decor. The menu was a great selection of pub food classics. The portions were huge. The steak pie, mash and gravy were great! Really enjoyed the experience.

So sorry I am just now seeing this. I cannot imagine why they wouldn't take it. It was quite a while ago so I don't recall. I know some places refuse that card b/c of the fees but lately I've noticed more and more places ARE... More
