The food that I have had here is terrific, both at the old Coast Village Road and Downtown locations. The meatballs, chicken cacciatore (with an unusual "hunter's sauce), branzino are great. The vegetables are amazing. Mollie and Ali make you feel "included" in a great...dining experience. This is also my brother and his wife's from LA favorite restaurant, and they will drive up just for dinner.More

The food at Mollies is great, and Mollie herself is a sweetheart. Who cares if Oprah, Barack and Nancy Pelosi are only memories captured on photos at the front table and they’re not sitting at the table next to you - Mollies delivers great food...to regular folk too! The veal was excellent, the bread is fantastic and the desert sampler is a great option if you can’t decide how to end your meal. The poor hostess/water girl was extremely uptight and unfriendly, no doubt shy, I’m sure Mollies infectious personality will change that - lucky for her!More

My wife and I went to the State St. Mollies before the Symphony concert. We hadn't been to the Montecito location, but heard that Lasagna was a signature dish; so we each had the Lasagna. If you expect a stack of noodles with a rich...red sauce on top, you will be disappointed as we were. It is sort of a loose group of noodles with a sweet tasting brown sauce. We usually have some Red Italian wine with our Italian food. Their win list doesn't have any reasonable ($40-50) red Italian wines. We will be having our pre-Symphony dinners elsewhere in the future.More

Trattoria Mollie (or Mollie's) is now also located on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara (1200 block, near the Granada Theater). I just enjoyed a meal of bruschetta, eggplant parmigiana, and cheesecake, and everything was especially delicious. The eggplant dish was a perfect blend of...sauce, cheese and flavoring that was not at all heavy but very satisfying. The bruschetta was also well blended, without having too much onion or garlic. (The diner at an adjacent table asked for balsamic to put on his, and he then reported that it was "perfect", so don't hesitate to ask.) The cheesecake had a delicate lemon flavor and was served with strawberry sauce. All the desserts are homemade. In addition, the decor is very pleasant, soft taupe walls and white/black table settings. The tables are nicely spaced. I recommend that even if you don't live in Santa Barbara and have to make a special effort to dine here, it's worth it.More

Ate a late dinner at the bar. Very good service and good food. We had a pizza, which wasn't bad at all. Not the best, but pretty good. Also, the lasagna, which was good. Not sure I would return, but it was pretty good.

I had never eaten here and heard many raves about it. I'm thinking its because famous people go there. Service was "good". Food "very good". But wine list was inadequate. There were only 2 chardonnays and they were either $56 or $59. That is ridiculous....You can do better on a cruise ship!More

This Trattoria apparently boasts TV celebrities amongst their clientele, the food was very good though I found the wine list expensive.

After the fire and floods of late 2017-early 2018 we wanted to show our support to the local restaurants, and Trattoria Mollie did not disappoint. We sat outside in the early spring time warmth, and lunch was delightful. The table ordered Insalata Tricolore with shrimp,...Branzino all griglia with fresh vegetables, and the lunch special of ravioli stuffed with squash, a salad and iced tea. Each were cooked beautifully—the green beans and broccoli a bright, fresh, appetizing green, the ample portion of pasta tender and in a satisfying, somewhat rich sauce. Complimentary bread was tasty and had a crisp crust—there was no butter but the table did have olive oil. Dessert of tiramisu was light, and might have had a bit more oomph of flavor, but was pleasant. We were pleased to see that the main Montecito road looked as if it had come back in full force.More

Over the years I have enjoyed lunch or dinner at this long standing restaurant. It’s always been pricey but worth the it. Sadly my last visit just after Coast Village Road reopened after the mudslides, was most disappointing. There were only a few tables and...we did have a 6:30 reservation so early enough to not get our order behind other diners. With our first courses, lentil soup, prosciutto and melon (not in season) Caesar salad and Caprese salad, finally served after 40 minutes by the only waitress we again waited for our main course....the food was not up to par, my seafood not fresh, the veal presentation below previous visits. So my conclusion is that Mollie must be in the kitchen for this restaurant to shine!More
