This place is not consistent, sometimes I would get a lot of food on my plate and sometimes my plate looks empty. I’m only giving them 4 stars because of their desserts.

We use to go here frequently but now we will NEVER return! They say that they care about their customers however this is not true.
Maybe the best enchiladas I have ever eaten! Order the pastor enchiladas with green sauce. Seriously good. Excellent service.
I stood in the lobby to pick up a to go order and was ignored by 5 of the 6 workers there. The one worker who said he would help me, left to go help other servers and finally after waiting 15 mins I left....I called to cancel my to go order and told them I was cancelling because I was ignored and a man named mike told me “there’s no need to be petty” how rude can you get? I’ll never eat there again.More
The margaritas are awesome. The food is authentic. The staff is always quick. You can get in and out or linger if you like. Some of the best spicy food in all of Modesto.
We really enjoy Javi's senior menu. Carnitas enchiladas, tamales and chili rellenos are our favorite.
Found this place just driving by (visiting the area). My family was pleasantly surprised. The food was really good and authentic. The prices were extremely reasonable. There was a lot of options to choose from. My youngest child is ridiculously picky when ordering food and...he was able to find mac and cheese with french fries on the kids menu. Something for everyone! Definitely a place I recommend!More
Great food good menu choices fast service. My choice for dinner when possible. Great choices of extra spicy food.
we like this place couple years ago would go at least biweekly. quality of food has gone down sometimes not even real warm. everything is pre prepared maybe even hangs around a few days.they do a buys bar so maybe thats where its at for...themMore
We had dinner here our good friends while in the area. The service was very good waitress very attentive and the food ok. We have had better tacos but the rice and beans were very good. Good restaurant for families and couples. It was warm...in the restaurant but manageable. Not a bad place and easy to get to.More
We were visiting and a lovely gal at Winco recommend this restaurant. We picked lunch choices off the senior menu. The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. One annoying thing was our waitress and the waiter in the next section both...went on lunch and the same time. When I needed a refill on my soda I had to go to the bar and have it refilled. We will be back next time we are in town.More
The service is excellent, the beer cold and plenty of good salsa and coleslaw. Food was served hot and delicious. Always a fun place for lunch or dinner. Always sit in the bar and have been very, very happy with every thing I have ordered....Good size portions, not too big.More
We had an excellent lunch, the scallops en crema were perfectly cooked, the portion was generous. My friend enjoyed his salad. I appreciated that they served the tortilla chips with refried beans and cheese, salsa, and the shredded cabbage concoction whose name eludes me. You...can ask for either corn or flour tortillas, mine were fresh and hot. Service was friendly and quick. The only negative were the prices, fair for my scallop dish, I would like to see the menu have lunch specials for those wanting to eat and spend less. The menu is extensive but there are few cheaper dishes.More
We've lived so close to Javi's for years, but we always passed it up for the Mexican restaurant across the street. Finally ate here last summer and have returned many times since then. Pros: - Great selection on menu - Friendly, fast service - Comfortable,...casual, family friendly atmosphere - Besides salsa, refried beans and spicy coleslaw are served with their chips - Delicious, fresh seafood with mild chipotle cream sauce!!!! LOVE THIS! (They have other sauces to choose from, but our waitress recommended this). Con: - nothing major, but on those hot summer days, glaring sun rays shined through the dining area, and there are no blinds on their windows. We moved to different tables to find shade, but someone always had sun directly in their eyes. Simple solution, just wear your sunglasses. :-) One day, a friend told us he drove by Javi's and wondered if we were there, thinking how much we love the place. I asked what time/day did he drive by? He said, "Saturday, around 3:00pm." No joke, we were there when he passed by, haha!!More
Javi's Mexican restaurant on Standiford Avenue in Modesto, CA has become our standby for good Mexican food in a pleasant atmosphere. The bar is in the center of the restaurant and if you like sporting events are playing on the various TV's, otherwise booths and...tables outside the bar provide an inviting venue. Service is quick and attentive and the menu is interesting with standard Baja type Mexican dishes plus some specialties like the garlic scallops which are our favorite.More
