A very popular stop for folks who had visited Yosemite on a bus. Old school bar, ranch look with menu favorites that haven't changed in years. This is one of our special occasion restaurants

I lived in Merced my whole life, I'm 61 now and had never been to the restaurant due to different reasons. Always wanted to go but never made it until this month when I went to visit my family. There was 8 in our group. My younger brother said he had been here and food was great. Well what a... More

My meal was, as always, delicious. The waitstaff is competent. The atmosphere is so comfortable.....one of the last vestiges of old Merced.

There's a women's meeting that is held monthly here. The food has always been very good. But what makes this special to me is the server that does a tremendous job ALL BY HERSELF. Making sure we have everything we need and more. Boon, you are the most spectacular person there is. You work so hard for every group that's... More

Don't be fooled by the appearance. It's a bit dated, but the service was outstanding and the ribeye was one of the best steaks I've ever had. It was worth every penny.

Merced doesn't have many options for good restaurants but you can't go wrong with branding iron. Of course it is better than most of the restaurants and at the same time more expensive. A little cup of soup, cost 6 dollars, the one that comes with the meal, very expensive for that little,so even when the taste is delicious it... More

We have been coming to Merced on business trips for a few years but had never known about the Branding Iron. What a nice surprise! We enjoyed everything about our dining experience from the decor to the dessert we were very satisfied. The chef's cut prime rib was high quality and served with a fresh summer squash vegetable prepared perfectly.... More
