We heard from a friend about this restaurant and gave a try. It is very closed to Menlo Park downtown on a side street. The place is not very big but feel very comfortable with bench/pillow style sitting in combination with chairs. We ordered the Today's Special dish Crab Cake Otak which is good and new for us. We also... More
The spicy tofu is not to be missed. Flavorful food, great-cold Sinaporian food brought me back to my trips to Singapore. Great for lunch, nice for dinner. Haven't had one thing there I didn't like.
Always have a good experience at Shiok. It is small but not cramped. The service is good and food is delicious. I'm not good with spicy foood but their Laksa Noodles are so delicious that I have to keep eating them, even with my mouth tingling.
They serve excellent food at this restaurant. My favorite is the SIngapore chili crab with the sweet bread rolls. It's a bit of a trek to get to, as they are about 1 hour away from San Francisco or Oakland, but definitely worth the trip.
Went here a few times when they first opened and offered discounted vouchers through restaurant.com and we were glad to try this then new place in town. It can get crowded on a weekend and if so the wait can be long. The food is hard to describe and a few of the dishes were unique to the country of... More
Two of us had one of the two set menus as an introduction to the restaurant. It had been 12 years since our last visit and we regret wasting those years! The dinner was excellent from the first course to the last. The flavors were authentic and delicious; the ingredients were fresh and tasty; the food was served nice and... More
I've walked by this place many times. Now I am so glad we stopped in for a light dinner! I enjoyed this tasty Veggie Stiry Fry: "Select Bok Choy, mushroom, carrot, tofu – Stir fried in Shiok’s vegetarian sauce" and also vegetarian Lettuce wraps. Everything was very good; the veggies were tender and the sauce was delicious. And I liked... More
I really enjoyed my dinner at Shiok. It was my first time at a Singaporean restaurant so I really don't have comparison terms, but I liked the food a lot, especially the desert and the sweet coconut milk directly from the coconut shell! The restaurant is also very nice, soft light, dark forniture and walls, colorful textiles. Quite a intimate... More
First time here and it was very interesting as we went with an expert on this style of food as he was born in Malaysia and he knew his cooking. But the owner who was kind of very helpful was also a bit annoying as he kept making recommendations in a pushy kind of way that drove the bill through... More
