We visited this fantastic restaurant twice within the six nights we stayed in Santa Monica, although we were tempted to visit more we forced ourselves to try other restaurants. The food is fantastic, as is the service, with staff being very friendly and efficient. If there at about 20:00, be prepared for a sing along to That's Amore with old... More

This restaurant was just two blocks from our hotel and came highly recommended by the hotel staff and also by TA reviewers. I chose Gnocchi Bolognese and my wife chose Crab Ravioli, both were very good indeed. Our waiter Ben was very attentive without being OTT and he deserves mention in our review. I must also mention the ‘Garlic Knots’... More

Our waiter was terrific. The garlic knots were out of this world, the homemade salad dressing was perfect. Our entrees were good, but not excellent. The house wine was so-so. Around 8:30 they handed out song sheets, started the music and everyone in the restaurant sang along. We had an enjoyable evening and will return, but next time we will... More

The garlic knots were so good, I could not finish my meal. The entire restaurant singing together and toasting together is heartwarming. Make a reservation or the wait can be long.

There were two servers. One was incompetent and harried. The other was charming, competent, quick, helpful with suggestions and quietly covered for the other throughout our visit, essentially doing two jobs. We had the super server. We were seated right next to the fountain, which was nice. It was day time so there was a little shade from from over... More

Seems like we always come here with a big group, and always leave pretty happy. This time was with a group of 11. Parking is a complete nightmare, so be prepared to pay or walk a couple blocks. Beach parking down the street was $18 until 6pm, when it dropped to $9. Valet is also available after 6pm. Favorites are... More

Sat on the patio and enjoyed the delicious garlic rolls followed by the pappardelle with braised short ribs! Delicious. Wine was served in the traditional old school Italian wine glasses. Loved it. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Its a mixture of coming for the fun and the food. The staff is always terrific, the 'honor bar' wine set up and those damn garlic balls.... you can't stop at one. I would say the food is good, tasty and filing, but not over the top gourmet, but that is not what this place is about!

You will completely enjoy your visit to C&O. It is best when enjoyed in a group. The food is good but you will go for the fun. It is a festive atmosphere. The wait staff enjoys their work and everyone has a good time.

I suspect a good restaurant is hard to find this close to the beach, and in VB. But this one hits a real low for tasteless veal parmigiana, over breaded veal, bland tomato sauce and perfectly cooked al dente but also tasteless vegetables. I will say the wait staff was very nice. Sweet and considerate. I cannot speak to the... More

C&O Trattoria (C&O) has been open since 1969. Now a well known Venice Beach landmark, serving Northern Italian breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. It has become known for good food and friendly service in a relaxed garden setting. On May 1, 1993, C & O Trattoria officially opened a Northern Italian concept, unlike any other in Los Angeles, serving gargantuan portions of high quality Northern Italian pastas at unbelievably low prices. Add our "Killer Garlic Rolls," nightly sing along, honor wine bar, and friendly team service and you have the C & O Trattoria, one of LA's premier Northern Italian eateries.
