We had great food, great service and an all around good time at Whiskey Reds. The fish and chips, crab cakes and lobster roll were all excellent.

Granted, food prices are high and became higher during the supply-chain problem, but didn't recede to levels in existence prior to that problem. I am writing to agree with a critique from 6/19/21, 2.5 years ago ("Extreme Dissapointment") and cannot recommend this overpriced restaurant. The...food portions for our brunch party of four were about one-half of those served to some of my party at a recent brunch. We complained and had the most expensive part of the meal unchanged, with other, obviously less costly courses increased in size by the manager, vs. a blunt request to lower the prices if the food quantities were less. One of the main courses had sold out at 1:30 pm on Christmas Day, odd if not the result of poor management, and cause to walk out when an anticipated main course is not available. The consensus amongst us of food quality was adequate to good, but unacceptable for a "four-course" brunch costing $ 67 + coffee, tax and tip.More

The food was pretty good. Everything else was atrocious, They were hosting some sort of a big wedding party - which was allowed to bring in their own sound system and totally bombarded the whole restaurant with painfully loud music. They didn't seem prepared to...handle all the orders from the wedding party, as the service was painfully slow. Definitely won't be back.More

I have been here many times previously pre Pandemic for the Brunch. I get that restaurants are struggling, I understand they experienced hardships and I understand they experienced financial hardships during COVID. But at least try to express a modicum of respect for your patrons...who are now back and attempting to support you. I had a meal tonight, that was a going away for a close friend. It was an extreme disappointment. The thing that made me truly angry was I felt totally ripped off. Literally $50 ahead for food quality that was barely above fast food level. Whiskey Red's needs to step up their game. I am happy to support businesses that value their customers and give them fair value for a meal. But I am surely not going to return to a restaurant that gouges me and expects me to accept it. I would definitely give this restaurant a pass. A very small portion of Calamari for a high price, seafood pasta where the pasta and sauce tasted out of a can and the seafood was minimal, fish and chips that were very substandard and the equivalent to take out. All in all a huge disappointment.More

My son and I were in the LA area visiting, and we love to go to non chain restaurants. Although not the quaint little joint we usually visit, we were pleasantly pleased. It sits right on the water at the marina in Marina Del Rey....We were there on a rainy day at 3pm, so almost had the place to ourselves. The food was very good. This place is more a wine and bourbon establishment but they do a few beer options. The service was friendly and prompt. The views were fabulous. Lots of outside seating when it is not raining, but plenty of windows for catching the water views. I can see how this place is fun and exciting during the boating season, One thing bothered me though, and it is something I take note of in every establishment...is the bathroom clean and well taken care of...this speaks loudly of many other details in a restaurant. Maybe it was an off day, but the bathroom had not been touche in a while. Non the less, if we are in LA again, we surely will come back.More

This is a great place to have dinner and apps especially at happy hour. Great drink menu. It’s right on the marina, and the sunset is beautiful. They also have fire pits outside with lots of seating. The buffalo fingers and spinach dip were so...good. Service was fantastic. Would highly recommendMore

Horrible. Not clean, staff was ambivalent and unfriendly. There was actually a patron at the bar that was ‘a working lady’ at 4:30 in the afternoon on Sunday. The place was a mess and almost everyone working there had a ‘don’t bother me’ attitude. On...the up side, the views from the patio are lovely. It is a shame that they cannot pull it together here - we keep hoping someone will make this place great and we stop by every few years (for over 25 years) and it is basically the same unkempt place with a lack of service and ambiance. We left without eating as we didn’t want to eat in that environment.More

The service was EXCELLENT. The view from the window table was SPECTACULAR. Being...told that we were celebrating my daughter's birthday, the restaurant treated the 3 of us with a slice of delicious chocolate cake with a candle in it. We were treated like " Customer Always Wrong" by Jaclyn Page, the Asst. Gen.Mgr. Our Party of Five had buffet dinner, during Boat Parade. I offered feedback to Jaclyn (re: sparkling wine provided being so super sweet, NONE of us could drink it). So, we...Ordered 2 Bottles of expensive champagne, and several drinks, etc) I asked Jaclyn for a courtesy substitute for One Person ( me) with a regular white wine instead of what tasted like Sprite it was so syrupy sweet . Jackly said "WE have NEVER had a complaint, YOU are the ONLY ONE. Im not going to substitute you with anything." Considering we spent nearly $1,000 overall on extras we ordered. I asked if she was comfortable treating customers this way, and I asked her if she cared about my feedback. Jaclyn responded in a way which results that WE will never go to this restuarant again : "Yah, Im comforatable with my decision, since NO ONE ever compained about our sparkling wine, in the history of our restaurant, Im fine with not substituting your glass of wine" Jaclyn made us feel very unwanted, and has no idea how a Gen.Mgr, needs to speak to customers. If the restaurant's intention is to serve cheap sweet sparkling wine to get customers to buy better stuff, then Jaclyn should at least, be courteous to Customers and not call them wrong. How much would a glass of wine cost? Avoid Whiskey Red, due to rude Jaclyn is my opinion.More

This has a fantastic view of the Marina del Rey harbor area and waterways. The entrance had lovely gardening and waterfalls with a beautiful setting. Indoors, it was a little darker, but outside for brunch is was beautiful with very good service. The brunch buffet...had some of the best selection I have seen in that the food was all quality food, not mass produced food like some casino buffets. All ingredients were fresh whether it was crab, shrimp or other seafood. There were plenty of other options as well. Make sure you go early and make reservations, because the place gets crowded very quickly.More
