My son and I were in the LA area visiting, and we love to go to non chain restaurants. Although not the quaint little joint we usually visit, we were pleasantly pleased. It sits right on the water at the marina in Marina Del Rey....We were there on a rainy day at 3pm, so almost had the place to ourselves. The food was very good. This place is more a wine and bourbon establishment but they do a few beer options. The service was friendly and prompt. The views were fabulous. Lots of outside seating when it is not raining, but plenty of windows for catching the water views. I can see how this place is fun and exciting during the boating season, One thing bothered me though, and it is something I take note of in every establishment...is the bathroom clean and well taken care of...this speaks loudly of many other details in a restaurant. Maybe it was an off day, but the bathroom had not been touche in a while. Non the less, if we are in LA again, we surely will come back.More

This is a great place to have dinner and apps especially at happy hour. Great drink menu. It’s right on the marina, and the sunset is beautiful. They also have fire pits outside with lots of seating. The buffalo fingers and spinach dip were so...good. Service was fantastic. Would highly recommendMore

Horrible. Not clean, staff was ambivalent and unfriendly. There was actually a patron at the bar that was ‘a working lady’ at 4:30 in the afternoon on Sunday. The place was a mess and almost everyone working there had a ‘don’t bother me’ attitude. On...the up side, the views from the patio are lovely. It is a shame that they cannot pull it together here - we keep hoping someone will make this place great and we stop by every few years (for over 25 years) and it is basically the same unkempt place with a lack of service and ambiance. We left without eating as we didn’t want to eat in that environment.More

Visited for Restaurant Week Lunch. There were several choices on this special $20 per person menu. I had the Manhattan Clam Chowder and the Fish and Chips. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS.. The service was EXCELLENT. The view from the window table was SPECTACULAR. Being...told that we were celebrating my daughter's birthday, the restaurant treated the 3 of us with a slice of delicious chocolate cake with a candle in it. How nice of them and completely unexpected! We will definitely be back!More

We were treated like " Customer Always Wrong" by Jaclyn Page, the Asst. Gen.Mgr. Our Party of Five had buffet dinner, during Boat Parade. I offered feedback to Jaclyn (re: sparkling wine provided being so super sweet, NONE of us could drink it). So, we...Ordered 2 Bottles of expensive champagne,and several drinks, etc) I asked Jaclyn for a courtesy substitute for One Person ( me) with a regular white wine instead of what tasted like Sprite it was so syrupy sweet . Jackly said "WE have NEVER had a complaint, YOU are the ONLY ONE. Im not going to substitute you with anything." Considering we spent nearly $1,000 overall on extras we ordered. I asked if she was comfortable treating customers this way, and I asked her if she cared about my feedback. Jaclyn responded in a way which results that WE will never go to this restuarant again : "Yah, Im comforatable with my decision, since NO ONE ever compained about our sparkling wine, in the history of our restaurant, Im fine with not substituting your glass of wine" Jaclyn made us feel very unwanted, and has no idea how a Gen.Mgr, needs to speak to customers. If the restaurant's intention is to serve cheap sweet sparkling wine to get customers to buy better stuff, then Jaclyn should at least, be courteous to Customers and not call them wrong. How much would a glass of wine cost? Avoid Whiskey Red, due to rude Jaclyn is my opinion.More

Ambiance and food were good. Worth a stop when in the del Rey area. The Marina area has a few good spots and this is worthy.

This has a fantastic view of the Marina del Rey harbor area and waterways. The entrance had lovely gardening and waterfalls with a beautiful setting. Indoors, it was a little darker, but outside for brunch is was beautiful with very good service. The brunch buffet...had some of the best selection I have seen in that the food was all quality food, not mass produced food like some casino buffets. All ingredients were fresh whether it was crab, shrimp or other seafood. There were plenty of other options as well. Make sure you go early and make reservations, because the place gets crowded very quickly.More

The title says it all. Place hasn't been renovated in 20 years. Much better to walk along the marina and eat someplace else.

Wes tumbled upon this place while bike riding on the trail. The restaurant is very nice and the outdoor seating/views are beautiful. Great happy hour.

We are big fans of Sunday champagne brunches, and this is one of our favorites. The location is gorgeous, right on the harbor. Go early (they open at 10 am and the crowds don't arrive until 11) so you can watch the sea lions swimming...and the paddle boarders and sailboaters enjoying a sunny day. The highlight of the brunch is the seafood spread, with crab, oysters, shrimp, and mussels in an attractive display. The rest of the buffet is good and the staff keeps your champagne glass filled. There are several different indoor and outdoor seating areas, each with water views; there is even one patio that is dog-friendly. Parking in the next-door lot is validated. Popular for birthdays, this is also a great place to take out-of-town visitors.More

How many ways can I say LOUSY? First this place is in desperate need of cleaning and a face lift. From the second you walk in you get the feeling that no surfaces have been cleaned in 20 years. They keep you waiting, even with...a reservation and with empty tables everywhere. Now... to the food. Well... if this brunch was priced at $19.00 it might pass as barely ok, but for $49+ per person it was really seriously bad. The carving station never had anyone there and the meat was sitting under the heat lamp continuing to cook. You has to hunt someone down to get your food and then wait 10 minutes while they found someone. The seafood was ok, but the crab legs where sliced down the length to tiny spears. They did have oysters but frankly I was afraid to try because of how unappetizing things looked. The room for other hot foods was mediocre. I had a chili rellano that was absolutely the worst I’ve ever had. It was all water! It filled my plate with liquid. Didn’t find any cheese and the batter was soggy. Someone was making eggs to order. The eggs Benedict were stale bread that couldn’t be cut, a rubbery cooked egg on top and 1/2 teaspoon “bernaise” that was tasteless. The fresh cut fruit was good. Dessert station was an uninspired after-thought. Certainly not worth wasting any calories on. We sat inside as it was a tad cool for my husband, and the noise level gave us both a headache. You could only scream to the person next to you and no one could hear anything. To top it off, there was no notice about getting a validation for parking and to be honest, our heads were spinning with this disasters experience, all we could think of was running out of there. The fisherman’s wharf used to be a lovely, quaint area to stroll, watch the boats and birds, so we thought we’d try that- but no surprise - it was unclean, many stores out of business and kind of sad. There are other places in the area to enjoy eating and strolling. Save your money and your time. This is not a place I’d ever recommend.More

Had a fun afternoon relaxing before going out to fly from LAX. The menu was limited, but the cod tacos were great. Slightly spicy and filling. We enjoyed the margaritas. Chelsea was very friendly. Great server. Fabulous backdrop of ships, rowing team, seals sunning themselves...and having little squabbles. All in all a very nice way to end a trip to LA.More
