Our family enjoyed the yacht rock cocktail cruise in Marina del Rey in our recent vacation to the west coast. Just go to the dock and look for the Hornblower boats to check in dockside- no need to search for their office. We got there...early so we were the second party to board and secured the best seats in the house up on the top deck! There was no need to pay extra for guaranteed indoor table with champagne bucket. They gave us a complimentary glass of champagne when we boarded. Our youngest daughter is not drinking age yet, so the bartender made her a complimentary virgin cocktail. It was fun watching all the sailboats come into harbor and we got some amazing photos as the sun was going down. You don’t ever leave the bay. You go the edge and then turn around and come back. You’ll still need a jacket, though. For $10, you can buy an appetizer ticket from the bartender and then go pick a plate of food to snack on. They had 2 choices-a charcuterie plate, and a hummus plate.More

We decided to do the brunch. Although it took a while to get aboard it was nice. The food was good, but we did notice there were no crepes and a few other items. Not the best tasting champagne either. It was an average boat cruise.

We attended dinner aboard the yacht to celebrate my little brothers dinner. The receiving champagne for adults and cider for kids was awesome. Dinner was great and our server Rudy was fantastic he went above and beyond to make sure our celebration dinner was perfect...for everyone. The views were spectacular. I will definitely look forward to having dinner aboard again soon.More

What a way to bring in the New Year. A friend and I booked the New Year's Eve dinner cruise. We weren't sure what to expect. We took a boarding photot, greeted as we boarded with a glass of champagne, 5 course dinner, live entertainment...and dj on the upper deck which is where we were, open BAR, and another champagne toast at midnight. This was grand! Very upscale, classy and elegant. We did not want to do the night club for NYE. So this was perfect. The service was amazing. Our server was very attentive. She came over and asked me if I wanted another drink without me having to stop her and ask her. I would highly recommend this cruise just in general. It was dark of course so you can't get the best view at the time but I'm sure during the day it is beautiful.More

Went on a cool night in November. Need to be bundled up out on deck at this time of year. Food was good, both salmon and short ribs. Drinks were not included but were reasonably priced. Service was very good, but then this was a...quiet night and the ship wasn't full. The cruise through the Marina was nice, I would suggest plan your trip when the whether is warm and sunset is during the cruise.More

Went on the Hornblower Summer Sights and Sips Cruise out of Marina Del Rey and had a wonderful experience. The cost was $30, which we felt was very reasonable. The staff were all very professional and friendly. They had a set up of hot mashed...potatoes with sides on bacon, cheese, onions, and sour cream and hummus and pita bread during the entire cruise. They also had three different waiter served appetizers, and toward the end of the cruise waiter served deserts. The drinks at the bar was on average about $8 per drink. I tried several different types, and found them all very good. Finding the embarkation area is a little tricky. They signs are not clearly marked. Best is to just look for the El Torito Restaurant, the Hornblower ship is right next to this restaurant. The only negative thing I can say about the experience was leaving the parking lot. They only have one booth open to exit, and if you are last, you can expect a wait of at least 25 minutes to get out of the parking lot. My suggestion is to park close to the exit booth, and in such a manner that you can exit quickly. Parking was about $5 - $8, depending on what time you arrive. I would do the cruise again and would highly recommend this to my family and friends.More
