My financee took me here for a birthday lunch. We live super close by and finally made our way down here. It’s a nice restaurant off the beaten path. The service was fantastic and the views of the marina were even better. They have very...unique drinks that I sadly can’t recommend though. Our waitress was soo lovely but when making recommendations for me, she failed to let me know it was her very first day. Naturally, she recommended me something that was literally the worst thing I have ever tasted. On top of that, the guy who brought my drink out (mind you it took almost 20 minutes to be concocted and my fiancée was ready for his second drink before I even got my first) so this guy who brought it out lead with “here you go, just remember you’re paying for the show and not the actual drink”. First off, why would you do that to me after ordering a drink that was $17? Frankly, I should have told him to take it back and give me something else. Basically, DO NOT ORDER THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT. Whilst the alcohol content is admirable, the taste is absolutely horrendous. I’ve attached a picture of the beautiful but horrible drink. Also, if you order the deviled eggs, be prepared it is breaded. I must have not read the menu right because I was sadly disappointed. I would definitely try this place again, but only gave it 3 stars because of the false recommendation and the lack of decorum of the waiter who brought me the drink.More

I have always been a Chart House fan but this one lacked it. First, $6.00 to park in their lot to then go in and pay for overpriced seafood -- not my kind of place. Shrimp stuff with crab was boring. Wait staff lost intime...-- had to go to reception to pay for dinner. Last time I'll go here.More

Chart House in Marina Del Rey has amazing happy hour deals every day. Discounts on delicious food & drinks. Beautiful location with views of yachts in the marina.

This restaurant was nice and quiet with pretty views of the harbour. The food was some sort of thai fusion with seafood and delicious. I would recommend having a table by the window which sits only 4 people. A bigger group like ours (5) had...to squeeze into these booths which were very narrow and not the best.More

The ambiance is lovely, especially looking out on the marina. The service is top notch - although a bit slow to see a waiter when we sat down. The Prime Rib and New York strip were cooked to perfection. Our vegetarian had many options too.

I haven’t been to a Chart House for at least 20 years and not to their Marina del Ray branch for over 30. Back then it was my go to ‘fancy restaurant’ for special occasions. Tonight we decided to try it again. It looked slightly...tired as we walked in and the dining table layout is exactly the same as it was back in the day. The salad bar was still there and the ingredients looked fresh, but they didn’t seem to be laid out with as much care as they had in the old days. We started out with a lobster bisque, escargot, and a salad bar for the apps. They were all ok but my wife reported that the bisque was not as good as the clam chowder we had the previous night at Quality Seafood (see previous review). We ordered a mid range Pinot from the menu and it got us upgraded wine glasses. From that point things started to look up. It only got better from there as our mains were very good. We had two portions of prime rib, one medium rare and one medium. They were finished perfectly and there was a clear difference between them - in a good way. We also had a shrimp pasta and the shrimp was cooked perfectly and appeared to be cooked from fresh rather than frozen. I thought the mashed potatoes that came with the prime rib was slightly glutinous. It was strange that they would have been over processed given that they were still lumpy (Chart House style). My wife had steamed veg and that seemed to be the better way to go. Next time I might go with a loaded baked potato as the accompaniment as a saw a few headed out of the kitchen and they looked spectacular. We finished things off with a shared slice of mud pie and that certainly brought back fond memories. The ice cream was solid enough to hold the components together yet soft enough to eat without having to break out a hack saw. Very good. Service was friendly and seemed well timed. Courses came out out at a nice pace (and all dishes for each course were served together - a pet peeve of mine if they are not) but we never felt rushed. It was Saturday so most of the tables were filled and turned at least once while we were there. The customers seemed to be a mixed bunch, mostly older retired folks (tourists), with some families and a few locals. The bar was busy. Several people came off a boat on the dock and enjoyed some drinks and apps on the deck outside. Pricing. The Chart House has never been a place to get a cheap meal and this one was no exception. I am not sure the experience was worth the premium menu prices but the family is happy with the meal so I am too!More

After flying into LAX we met family at Chart House for a light bite and shared the calamari and coconut shrimp. Both we excellent especially the calamari which were lightly breaded and delicately fried. Great suggestions by our waiter Jake.

So on our last day in LA, we went down to the Marina and had a little dinner outside, by the boats and overlooking the walkway at the marina. We spoke to passerby’s as we chowed down on some calamari , Canadian oysters and some...octopus. Paired with a single malt scotch we were full and had a great time with our he left locals. The food was above average and the chef prepared the octopus and it’s two aioli’s while thinking outside the box. If you want a relaxed environment with great food and service be sure to stop by.More
