This is an upscale chain restaurant in Marina del Rey, visited by many locals, several of whom are frequent diners judging from the comment "see you again tomorrow; you bet". We took the Nozawa menu which had scallops for the daily special. The starter of organic soy beans was followed by tuna in yuzu sauce. Excellent fish, tender and tasty,... More

The quality of the fish is good. The quantity means that the value is relatively low compared to comparable sushi establishments such as Hama Sushi or Sushi Gen. Ironic, since this restaurant is right in the port.

I have been to Sugarfish a couple of times and the sushi has been perfect. We all get quiet when the food comes since we are all mesmerized by our plates. I tend to stick to tuna but others enjoyed salmon and crab split rolls. It is a cozy place and was still hopping right before closing. If you are... More

We were not planning to come here for a lunch, we were in the area. The place opens at 12 PM on weekend for Lunch, got there a couple of minutes later, we were lucky! Place got filled within 10 minutes! We ordered "Trust Me" and it was enough for my lunch. For dinner, I'll make reservation first. It is... More

We put a takeout order in, and within 20 minutes we were outside the restaurant enjoying sushi in the sunshine by a cold fountain. Clearly a hot spot in MdR, there was a wait on an off-hour for lunch and everyone seated seemed to know they were in for something great. The "Trust Me" for takeout was awesome because there... Nothing creative. Just fresh fish on some rice. Really disappointed place. No delicious souce. The real joke were the hand rolls. Every amateur would have done better than this. 16% service charge convinced me never come back.

I had one of their 3 typical combos. It was well-served, fair priced and delicious. The service was slow, but other than that, I was really satisfied.

Great service, with excellent quality. A simple menu that includes everything a sushi lover wants. Small but friendly environment.

We visit this super sushi restaurant after landing at LAX airport from the UK. We stay at the nearby Marina del Rey hotel which is in walking distance away and it's well worth making the effort to leave the luxury of the hotel for an absolutely wonderful dining experience. Don't be shy, just ask them for their advice and you... More

I think I may be ruined on regular sushi after this. We got the box special- it was about $100 for 2 for lunch, but so good I would have paid $200. The fish is all so amazing and fresh. It was highly recommended by my sister to eat here and now I know why. Every bite was a party... More
