Stopped at Nick's for lunch on October 9th, 2020 at around 2:00 PM. The restaurant was virtually empty with the exception of a few diners spread widely on the patio. We were told to wait because we did not have a reservation. When we were...finally seated we were told to be finished in 90 minutes and that our two small dogs could not stay under the table in the outdoor patio. I understand there are rules that have to be followed to insure all of our safety during the covid crisis but the staff was curt and outright rude. When we told them we had eaten outside before with our dogs under the table they relented and let us in. Don't ask for water for your pets because it will be abruptly refused. When we asked to see the manager he came after we had eaten and told us it was corporate policy and that whatever we had done in the past was wrong. I can go on but I want to get to the bottom line. There are other places to eat in Manhattan Beach. Right across from Nicks is a Greek restaurant and we have eaten there many times. They are dog friendly, people friendly and the food is great. This is much better bet. As for the day manager at Nicks I would say if you are not happy with your job or the company you work for explore making a change. This is what makes American great, you don't have to keep that job.More

Extremely friendly and efficient service. Good food. Tuna Tartare was excellent. Chicken came with two large pieces and home made mashed.

Wow! The Chilean sea bass is by far the best I’ve had. Comes with mashed potatoes and spinach. Such a good meal and the watermelon jalapeño margarita was good. Great staff.!

Everywhere we go in Southern California, we always make a point to stop by one of the Nick’s restaurants to dine. We just had a great lunch at South of Nick’s in San Clemente last week and today we went to Nick’s in Manhattan Beach...for lunch. This location has Great foods and it’s in an awesome location. I love their sourdough loaf with Garlic. Crunch skin with soft bead inside. Fried asparagus is a must order. The batter is tasty and crispy. For the main dishes, I ordered the San Francisco cioppino while my wife had the rack of baby back ribs. The Cioppino was full of fish meats, scampi mussels and clams. The soup goes along with it was fantastic. The baby back rib was huge. My wife had half left over to take home. This location is great as it’s just a short walk to Manhattan pier. Great day out to take a walk after lunch.More

The Adventure Buddies loves going to Nick’s to be able to sit outside and let your kids run around Metlox plaza is really nice. They have incredible food, a little $$ but still worth it to be able to relax and enjoy. We love the...butter cake! Whether it’s brunch, lunch or dinner Yum!More

Having eaten virtually everywhere over the years in the local area, NICKS is the best...I eat BLD in restaurants 250+ days a year as a Travel Director along with 40 discerning guests at the same time...Nicks is so much fairer in price on the Wine...List aspect of the menu, and the food aspect as well... the owners of the Strand House and Fishing with Dynamite, and Manhattan Post should just look at their menu and be embarrassed by their ridiculous wine prices... However all the above had excellent food, perhaps 8+/10, Nicks a solid 9+-10 go, you will love it.More

Our group of 8 had our work reunion dinner here. It is nice that they cover the parking meters for Christmas. I splurged on the Scottish Salmon and it was very good. Hubby Had ribeye; it was quite a small serving in my mind. My...buddy had meatloaf (to each his own!) and it was a large slice. The service was very very good. The bummer was the bratty kid who would not behave and parents who did nothing about it. I cringed when I saw that I was NOT the only one being annoyed by this. Hard to pay so much for a wonderful meal only to have it ruined by a brat.More

I started off with the Kentucky Cadillac, a drink they invented. Followed with the SAN FRANCISCO CIOPPINO. This was a memorable meal.

I went to Nick's today and most all of the salads and sandwiches (sans bread) can be made gluten free as well as several of the entrees. Just tell your server that's what you want.
