Step inside Il Fornaio and take a culinary journey through Italy. Early mornings bring rustic, crisp crusted bread hot from the oven accompanied by the scent of fresh brewed espresso. During lunch and dinner hours, pastas and flavorful sauces simmer while meats and vegetables roast over hot coals. Bottles of wine from small, regional wineries are uncorked to complement the dishes, which have been crafted in the custom of Italy's chefs, bakers and homemakers. Il
Fornaio means "the Baker" in Italian. This award-winning restaurant offers an authentic and unique Italian dining experience. Specialties include wood-fired rotisserie and grilled meats, poultry and game; housemade pastas; pizzas from an oak wood burning oven; fresh salads and housemade soups; a wide variety of desserts; and fresh baked bread made daily from scratch. Winner of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2007.

Came here for lunch the last week of Jan. 2016. My guest and I shared a Ceasar Salad and I ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese. Both were delicious and on point. The pasta was made to perfection. Our server was sweet but seemed unsure of when to approach the table. I will definitely eat at Il Forniao again.

We planned to try Paul Martin's near the hotel for dinner. It was a Saturday night and busy! They wouldn't even put us on a waiting list. So we walked across the street to Il Fornaio. Also busy, but had a high table available in the bar area. Fine for us. Our cousin had recently been to Italy and chose... More

Its Tuesday night, there is not a lot of people around. The restaurant is not even half full; but there is no service. There is 6 people in our group, most of them from out of town, we waited 10 minutes and have to ask again before we can sit down. Waited another 15 minutes with no one coming to... More

The interior is nothing short of incredible. Marble walls, marble floors, simply beautiful. The food is fine Italian the the service good. One problem: all the marble bounces the sounds around and makes it hard to hear your party. It's breathtaking however.

One of my favorite things about Il Fornaio is the selection of different types of fish on the menu. I've had a few business dinners here this year and the quality and service is consistently good. Lots of options on the menu and stellar service. The restaurant was extremely busy, but we never felt rushed or neglected. Easy open parking.

Our first night on a wet long California visit we chose Il Fornaio, and very happy with our choice. Very nice ambiance, great service and very good food. Although we later found that this a a local chain, I can see why they are a success. Beautiful dining room, reasonable pricing for the quality of the food and very good... More

Il Fornaio is a delightful blend of Italian cuisine. For Vino lovers, we walked and and saw the Wine Spectator rated Il Fornaio a top restaurant wine list location. Exciting. There were wine selections on the wine list, but also inside the specialty menu and on the back of the dinner menu. Lots and lots to choose from. The menu... More

Met friends here for dinner on a Saturday night. Had a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. Nice variety of daily specials and "usual" menu options. Delicious pastas and salads. Big dessert cart if you still have room. Nice wine list as well. Portions are generous. You've been warned! It's a little fancy but there's no dress code. Nice... More
