Super, super loud restaurant. Couldn't talk to anyone at the table, had to shout. Asked if we could go downstairs to the bar area, the hostess said no because it wasn't open yet and someone had broken a glass on the stairs. The stairs are...in the center of the restaurant and yet we didn't a glass break. Food was just ok, service was just ok. The view was gorgeous, just too loud.More

We had a great dinner at the Strand House. The restaurant is located near the pier with an unobstructed view of the ocean. The indoor and outdoor seating options are both nice and both allow you to see the view. The service was great with...the waiter catering to all our requests. We had the pepperoni pizza, tuna, bolognese and fries. All meals were delicious with a good mix of ingredients and large portion sizes. The prices are high so be aware; however, that is normal for the area. A great dinner stop while in MB.More
Not only is this one of the best dining views in the LA area, the service and food quality are exceptional. The Ceviche was Amazing as were the Mahi Tacos.
Love everything about SH and it’s an essential part of and LAX stopover. The welcome is always bright, staff, food and vibe are reliable and fresh and the outlook speaks for itself.
I went with a friend for brunch on Easter. The prefixed menu for the Easter brunch was mediocre at best and over priced. Sadly, I only liked one thing from the prefixed menu and ended up with a mandatory 20% tip. I could have ordered...Uber Eats and been happier. However, I did enjoy the view and time with my friend. Other than the view, I would spend my money elsewhere.More
Awesome experience with beach view and caring waitstaff. My daughter has food allergies, and the server took special care. Absolutely loved the cheese plate and charcuterie board. The nuts on the board were so good we tried to buy some to go.
Outstanding location for sunset. Ordered oysters- very nice but who serves raw oyster without crackers?!? They were delicious but would have been better with saltines!!
What a great beach brunch for me and my partner! The drinks were yummy and so was the view. We will definitely be going back next time we are at manhattan beach!
Came in during lunch, sat and waited 15 minutes just to get a menu. We had to watch the waiter serve the couple next to us 5 times, and not once did he check in or ask us for drinks. This was after numerous glancing...for eye contact. Was it because our skin was darker than the other couple sitting next to us? I couldn’t say, but we left and glad to find a perfect fish spot just across the street with much superior service and the food was priced MUCH more affordable. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.More
I booked The Strand house because of the excellent reviews and the view. We wanted to be somewhere beautiful for our last night in LA. The view and ambiance were incredible. We had the rigatoni and the avocado salad as a starter. Rigatoni was delicious...but the salad was pretty bland (both were way too big for a starter) we both had pepperoni pizza, which was mediocre at best (not worth the $22 price ticket) Our waiter was disinterested and it felt a little like he felt he was above being a waiter. I was irritated by the tip I felt obligated to leave. However the evening was made memorable by Albano who was one of the food delivery guys. He was helpful, friendly, genuine and went above and beyond. (The restaurant would do well to upgrade him to a full waiter) Overall it was a beautiful way to end our trip. Very expensive though!More
Restaurant is very trendy with great decor. You have great ocean view pretty much from anywhere in the restaurant, that is great. The service was very good. It was full for lunch but we had no issues with our sevice. The menu has great variety...and the food was very good. Everything we order was spot on. With the view, great food and service, probably one of the best places in Manhattan Beach. It was a great experience. Totally recommend it.More
We had a delicious, tasty and fresh brunch here at The Strands. The Brazino was amazing . The Ahi tuna salad was refreshing. Get their cinnamon roll good for 4-5 people. Be back again for sure once in Manhattan beach 🏖
The Strand has amazing views of the Pacific Ocean from most tables and is a gorgeous & trendy restaurant. Other positives include excellent salads and the amazing homemade donuts for dessert. Unfortunately, we had very poor service, including waiting 20 minutes for our drinks &...water to be brought to the table and having to nearly tackle our server another 15 to 20 minutes later to get her to take our order. Furthermore, the halibut I had seemed to have little or no seasoning and was painfully bland. My wife's Branzino was good, so my suggestion would be to avoid the awful halibut and order Branzino or something else. For a $43 fish entree, I expected more.More
A wonderful restaurant with different seatings to suit your taste. You can sit downstairs at the bar with no reservation required. Upstairs with and without sea view probably will require a reservation. There are a couple outdoor seating areas, one at street level and the...other on the second floor with a great sea view. On the day of our visit, it was quite windy but patio heaters kept us comfortable. The service and the food were just amazing. Oyster selection was delicious. I liked the seasoning on the Peruvian style chicken and the accompanying vegetables. However, the highlight of the meal was the carjjllo coffee with my desert.More
