We've eaten here probably 20 times in the last decade or so, as well as in the Mexican cantina next door. The setting is beautiful; after a few hours on the beach, this is a pretty perfect place to eat. We have a really good sushi restaurant near our house in England, which would probably be my recommendation for sushi... More

I love their asparagus salad and though I am not a huge sushi eater, my friends and husband are. Most people think the sushi quality is better here than Bui and they have a nice outdoor patio.

Excellent sushi menu - including mouthwatering artistic works you won't find anywhere else (try the Zuma Beach, Spicy Tuna Roll or the Fire Roll). Check in at the desk with Chloe when you arrive and she'll see that you're treated in total Malibu celeb style! Lots of choices for those that don't care for sushi, too. Their asparagus wrapped in... This restaurant is tucked away on the side of PCH right before you get to Zuma beach. It is sooooo unexpectedly good! Hubby and I went on a date night here and were shocked at how good it is. We tried most of the menu and were very happy with each and every piece. It is a casual and relaxed... More

My sushi was warm and disappointing in flavor. Atmosphere is casual and friendly. Wait staff seemed busy and inattentive.

Always fresh sushi and good service. Mostly locals scene with couples and families. They also to take out and there is parking so it's a good spot for easy access.

Zooma was a bit of a surprise. It sits right on PCH just a bit north of Kanan Dume Road - not exactly a foodie mecca. But assuming you find it, and assuming you are traveling southbound (you can't turn left into it if heading northbound), you are in for a treat. Everything we put in our mouths was first... More

Hope you aren't in a hurry. The good news is that you won't be rushed out of the restaurant. The bad news is that you won't get your food fast either. But the fish is wonderful. The Hamachi Kama was the best ever. A true local hangout.

I love sushi and Zooma does not disappoint. We sat at the sushi bar and the chef was great about suggestions. We had both sashimi and rolls. The sashimi was sliced very thin and melted in my mouth. The roll was a tasty combination of flavors. Definite stop on the PCH

SUCH GOOD, FRESH FISH! Lots of one of a kind sushi. The Point Dume Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll and do not miss bacon wrapped asparagus appetizer

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
