Been for lunch and dinner. Lunch better. Sit outside in the sand, get the cold seafood tower to share. Perfection. For dinner ordered the cold tower and had great window seat right before it got dark. Tower is usually solid and pretty fresh. Don't love all the items it comes with - mussels are ok... read more

I grew up in the Malibu area and have been to this restaurant many times, but somehow the beautiful location right on a private cove on Malibu Beach cannot justify the quality of food and a pricey menu for what you get these days. The clam chowder is still some of the best, but the rest of the entrees we... More

Much wider menu selection for lunch than dinner. Excellent clam chowder. Beautiful location on Paradise Cove Beach - again, much better during the day. Car park for pattons is $6 - beware non-patrons is $40, don't forget to get your ticket endorsed.

I prefer it in the off season when it is less crowded. Rent a cabana for a party or just to have a stamp of sand without people running through it. It can be a zoo, but think of it as a little day resort - like Brazil during Carnival, only more clothed! Burgers, seared ahi and breakfast are best... More

This was our first location on our day trip along the coast finishing at Santa Monica. The venue is fantastic with seating both inside and out ( with the benefit of being able to bury your toes in the sand if you wish). We actually decided to go outside but kept our shoes on because we are British and prefer... More

Strangely and unbeknownst to me when we happens upon this spot, it's actually quite a historic place and locals come here often. It's expensive as hell (especially if you are from Canada and your dollar is tanking) but the food is quite solid, there's lots of it, the service is friendly and the location is right on the beach (which... We went here on a recommendation and enjoyed our meal and walk on the beach after. Food is a bit pricey but the portions are enormous so you can definitely share. Great beach vibe and great location!

Large, well established restaurant literally on the beach. Pay $6 to park in their car park. A bit much. Get yourself a decent wide legged plastic chair in the sand otherwise you will end up underneath the table. After lunch, visit free Andy Warhol exhibition a few miles away at Pepperdine University. Well worth the short trip.

What a disappointment. Located on the beachfront, you would think thus cafe would serve decent food, making the most of its outlook.paradise cove has such a strong history as part of establishing Malibu's surfing reputation. On arriving, we were greeted with a very odd smell in the Restaurant - couldn't identify it until we'd been there a while - it's... More

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
