With this being a destination wedding for our nephew, the rehearsal/welcoming dinner was held at the Sunset Restaurant on the beach at Malibu. Since the occasion was festive, the staff handle it well, food was pre-ordered and served buffet style,.everything was tasty Parking was free. We didn't go down to the beach. No complaints. I could give a better review... More

My husband and I stopped here for dinner on our way back from LAX. This place is tucked way back off of PCH on the feeder road to the beach. It is a lovely spot and offers great views of the beach - and the sunset. Parking is limited, but free. We arrived early and got a table right away... More

Although its address is Malibu, this restaurant is at Zuma Beach, at the end of the free parking area. It offers valet parking for patrons for $5 compared to $10 to park 100 yards further along Westward Beach road. We were lucky to be just a couple as they had a table for two at the front window just as... More

This restaurant is on the "feeder" road of the beach. The people are very nice and welcoming. The service though is incredibly slow. It took 2 1/2 hours to serve a group of 8. The food was typical beach food- fried, greasy, obviously came frozen first, nothing fresh or tasty. As it is on the side of the road,to wait... More

Great view and parking, but the guest experience didn't match the gorgeous view. Long wait for water refill, or even picking the bill. Manager was really friendly, food was good. But not a complete experience.

We had a beet salad & fish and chips. The salad was ok, not much leaves in it to call it a salad but was a nice snack. The fish was really good- nice crispy batter and good size portion. Pretty busy place but served us our food in good time. The fruit juices are served up really small, but... More

Took my wife on a romantic date here last night. They have types of martinis I had never tried. The Spicy Grapefruit Margarita was delicious. The service was top notch. The oysters are very fresh. I wish they would have had saltines crackers to go with them. Maybe they will add them since our request was the second one in... More

The best part about the restaurant is the view. They have two stories and it sits right across from the beach. The food was a bit pricey but it's expected due to the location. Overall the meal was average but the waitress and staff were very friendly.

Great location and good service. The food is so so. My fish tacos were blah. But the view and a glass of wine make it worth it, especially if you come early to get a seating with the beach and sunset view.

I held a Rehearsal Dinner for 50 for my son and finance. Mindy at The Sunset went above and beyond! The service was excellent, they were extremely organized and set up the room/patio exactly as I requested, including my decorations. I had to coordinate the event from the East Coast and they were very accommodating. Can't say enough great things.... More

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
