If there's too long a line at Malibu Seafood, I'll head over to Reel Inn for a very similar meal. Used to be my favorite until we discovered Malibu Seafood. Still both great and unique and reasonable in price. Excellent second best!

I forget about this place even thought we pass it all of the time. It looks super casual, but it is easy to spend 25-40 per person.

It's a friendly fishy place, and the kids just loved it, as did my daughter and I. Enjoy the subway under the highway to and from the oceanside.

I loved the style of this place. Very cool you can see the fish they have available. You choose your fish and how you want it prepared and two sides. So worth the money they give you a huge plate of food I could not finish mine. Fresh fish as expected. Will return next time we are in Malibu

I gave this 4 stars because it was cute and the food was good. We really wanted a sit down restaurant and this is counter service. The food came out really quick which was nice. Definitely not a romantic place ;)

you'll have to compete with surfers for parking but you'll know you're at the reel in as soon as you see it three neon red fishes flashing in front. if you're going to eat on the wrong side of the highway Malibu Seafood was recently voted a better bet. Reel meantime has fresh fish okay slaw and other sides. there... More

Across from Topanga State Beach lies this little roadside gem called the "Reel Inn"-a lovely fishing pun. :) Delicious seafood (I recommend the tuna and the clam chowder) and fun people watching to boot. It does get very busy and the ordering/pick-up can be confusing but utilize your beach sense and take it easy while your food is prepared.

Every time we are in or near Malibu we never miss a lunch at the Reel Inn. Some of the best fish in the entire LA area. Atmosphere is totally CA. Nothing fancy just great food and service. Descent prices.

Friendly and fast service. The food was very good. Recommend the Cajun spice. Grilled only was a little bland. Cajun was not too spicy (for someone who doesn't like hot and spicy food). Nice atmosphere.
