Made the reservation well in advance as this is a very popular restaurant. From top to bottom it was excellent. Requested an outdoor table and it was ready on time for our reservation. Good drinks selection(lillikoi martini was delicious), and the food incredible(big eye tuna, rock eye shrimp, sashimi)...its all good. The atmosphere is refined yet funky.. Right on the... More

I visited Nobu in NY and it's hardly fair to judge a place by one meal, but my NY experience was much better. I had a "squid pasta" so named by the chef but with no actual pasta, and was cautioned by the server of same. I found the dish bland and uninspiring. I sat at the booze bar, not... More

I reserved our table from Australia over the phone... On the day of our booking we were happily travelling in a cab on our way to Nobu and there was a huge traffic jam on the highway and we were delayed by 1 hour! I quickly called the restaurant and they were so accommodating and said they understood as we... More

The food is very good and also the service, but the quantity of food is very small! Prices are too high, not for the average Joe! But since it is in Malibu people pay to see and been seen!! Chef Gordon Ramsay was there with his wife just two tables away. Very hip and coming. Young crowds of want-to-be. Good... More

Nobu Malibu has an omakase course that my husband and I avail of constantly when we are there. The chefs take unusual items and ingredients and mix them together to form a dish that is beyond compare. Every sense is awakened --- your sense of smell, taste, touch, and sight. There are 10 or 11 courses. You'll be full before... More

it will be well worth it. Probably some of the best Japanese food in Los Angeles. The Sea Bass is to die for. Great outdoor seating when the weather is good. The only issue is pricing. The food is worth every penny but it will set you back $100 - $150 per person with drinks. My wife and I try... More

My favorite thing to do here is let the server work with the chef on a tasting menu that they will comprise for you based on your likes and dislikes. Even if you are intimate with the menu and have your favorites, it is a great way to try new things.

Nobu is a fun and glamorous place. I have had one pedestrian sushi meal there when i was expecting the same super meals I had come to expect.

If you want to be in the latest, greatest place to "see and be seen", this is it! Beautiful people of all ages (mostly young) abound, but you have to pay for it. Food is creative Asian and very good, but small portions with high price tags....you have been warned....You will leave hungry, but with the satisfaction of seeing an... More

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
