I recently ate at the Solar de Cahuenga in Franklin Village, Hollywood Boulevard. Great outdoor area for Sunday brunch, I would recommend Elena's bowl for lunch, and the coffee is amazing.

A fine place. Features a wide cafe menu. Crepes sandwiches. Salads. The morning crepe is a Denver Omelette wrapped up. Excellent. Lots of juices coffees, etc. We come by whenever we are in town.
From our rental house we drove around looking for a place for breakfast. Nice surprise to find this restaurant. We enjoyed it so much we took the family back the next morning. They have an extensive menu, so i recommend you have a look at...the menu first. Ordering is at the counter and they bring it to the table. Good coffee, great food. They brought our selection out in a reasonable amount of time and it was hot.More
Perhaps I'm a bit suburban however I wasn't really a fan of this location. First of all, if you have to park here, they charge you a minimum of $5 - EVEN IF YOU ARE JUST STOPPING BY TO PICK UP A CUP OF COFFEE...- which is absolutely ridiculous and reason enough to not return. The service is fine and the menu is quite varied however the taste is just average and all I ordered was a chai latte - really challenging to get that wrong. The seating area ranges from tables & chairs to a couch section however there is a strange smell throughout the location that makes you wonder about their cleanliness. The crowd is very transient and filled with frustrated writers - like every other coffee shop in LA. This is not the location to have a private business meeting - and if its entertainment related, good luck Charlie.More
The food is quite good with reasonable price. Staff is friendly and nice. But may not a good place for large group of people.
Solar is a great place to meet people at, get some work done, or have an affordable meal. The line always moves when it's busy, and the dishes are all filling. There's a good energy in the place, and the back outdoor seating area is...a great place for a meeting or to just chill and, in my case, write. Strong wifi signal through out.More
This place is just a min walk from our hotel. The staff are very friendly and the place has a unique feel about it. My son loved his choc chip pancakes and I had the sunset crepe unfortunately I didn't realise there were walnuts in...this and I'm allergic, the waiter offered to re make the dish but I felt bad for wasting it. The crepe its self was delicious but the peaches has an odd tang to them. All in all lovely cafe.More
My crepe was old and cold. What more can I say? I do not tip when an order is taken at the counter, but I would have if the food had been worth it. It wasn't, so I didn't.
We went there for breakfast, lunch and dinner, that'll tell, how much we liked the place. Plus they make a delicious Cappuccino. Love it!
My family loved the quesadillas and the strogonoffe noodles, it was yum and the carmel lattes sooo good..friendly staff...sticky tables meaning hi traffic good food and juices
