Sushi in a strip mall doesn't sound very enticing and when you walk in you inky see the entrance and not the restaurant. Surprisingly when we turned the corner the restaurant that was 70%full for a Monday night which is pretty impressive. We took that...More

This is the spot on Hollywood if you want affordable sushi and enjoy a positive attitude when they bring your food to the table. Very nicely staffed with clean bathrooms and the drinks are poored perfectly. Amazing experience

I was staying in a hotel across the street from Shintaro, so based on all the good reviews, stopped in. The outside really is tacky, but inside is a lovely and traditional looking Japanese space. We had cooked food instead of sushi, and it was...More

Sushi is by far my favorite food group. The sushi here was delicious. The prices were slightly high, especially for only getting 6 rolls in each order. But I guess it is to be expected for the location and where it was at. The service...More

We popped in here for a quick bite and really enjoyed it. The only thing to watch for is that, unlike Sushi we have had in UK they add wasabi to the sushi so it was a bit challenging for my 13 year old.....we could...More

It was tough to find parking, but it's forgivable, this is the heart of LA. Just be prepared to pay another $20 for parking across the street. The staff were friendly and service was fast enough on this busy Friday night. But the food is...More

After a long day of sight seeing we wanted to eat something close to our hotel (the Loews). This little Japanese restaurant tucked in a strip mall hit the spot. Service was quick and the staff was so friendly. We started with the steamed gyozA...More

It was decided that tonight's meal would be Japanese, so decision time - where to go? In the end I have to say the decision was made on how long it would take to walk there! However, we loved the meals that we chose. It...More

This place does everything right. Super fresh sushi, a wide variety of other Japanese specials, friendly -- but not cloyingly so -- super efficient service, Kurosawa's films projected on the wall (silently), occasional celebrity tucked into a corner. We had seared tuna salad, tuna tower,...More

Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie
stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day,
tourists flock here from around the world to see the
iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to
catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close.
Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas
the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and
hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night
