Sushi= A+. Robata= A+. Drinks= A+. Even the atmosphere was great! We got to sit outside, and there were heaters on the wall to keep out the chill. The entire evening was a lovely experience. Great waitstaff !!!

First time for us sampling sushi in LA, so not sure where to start. This yelp recommended spot seemed like a good choice so we took the elevator up to this restaurant on the top floor. Great view from the patio, not surprisingly. The decor is warm but hip, lots of dark wood. We were waiting to be impressed. It... More

My wife and I recently traveled to California and I decided to take her out to 2 Anniversary Dinners. We had decided on the Yamashiro Sushi place but unfortunately it closed so I went scrambling to find another sushi restaurant and was recommended this one. It did not disappoint. The views from the 21st floor were amazing and the food... More

I went to Takami Sushi for dinner with a friend. We had the swordfish carpaccio, which was fabulous. We also had spicy tuna on crispy rice, yum... The service was wonderful! The manager moved though the whole resteraunt, checking on customers, taking comments or questions. The view from the 22nd floor is spectacular. Takami has facilities for catering events. It... I went to downtown LA for a visit and decided to have lunch in this restaurant known to have a view of the downtown. But as I entered the restaurant and looked around, I was quite disappointed with what I saw. Not much view of the city in the area where the building is located. I turned my attention to... More

The food and drinks here are great . as a local, its on my list of places to meet up friends. It's a fun place to come for happy hour and watch the sunset & see the city lights! The crowd is stylish and mostly dressy or younger business professionals. For travelers, this place is about a block north of... More

I chose this restaurant for its proximity to my hotel (Standard Downtown) and its promise of great views and hopefully equally great Japanese food. The ambiance and views are indeed spectacular, as was the service but the food was unfortunately not at the same level . The biggest disappointment was the O-toro sushi did not have the expected fresh, oily... More

The restaurant is on the 21st floor of a building in heart of downtown Los Angeles. When you enter the restaurant you immediately feel welcomed by either the wonderful staff or the beautiful interior of the place. What really grabs your attention is the outdoor area of the place. It feels so pleasant seating in the outdoors that you really... More

This restaurant had a gorgeous view of downtown LA. Unfortunately the food was hit or miss. While the robata was excellent (fish, steak, and chicken), the tuna with jalapeño was awful. A manager came out after we returned it and informed us we would not be charged for it. While he made a great point to share that, I found... More

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
