My first American BBQ experience and I enjoyed every bite. Good portions and super tender meat. Only thing I'm not sold on in Collard Greens, but that might just be me!

I have been reading about how good their BBQ is. I have eaten BBQ all over the south and was extremely disappointed in this place. I had their pulled pork sandwich and there was no flavor, the meat was bland, no smoke, no spice and the coleslaw was no better. Even after drowning it in BBQ sauce it was sad.... More

The menu is somewhat limited and never changes but you don't care. You came here because you heard it was rich thick meat-heavy BBQ done the right way. Plus some old-style country greens, corn, sweet potatoes, etc. This feels like the best style of classic BBQ you'd find in Texas, Arkansas, or the American South -- only better. There's both... Delicious baby back ribs (I don't even eat ribs usually) that melted off the bone and spicy beef brisket. Plus they treated us to dessert on the house! Banana cream pie with cookies. A really authentic American experience for these Aussies! Thank you!

I visited Baby Blues BBQ for an evening dinner with friends and family. Everyone in our group loved the food. All BBQ'd to perfection. If you're in LA and looking for a casual dining restaurant with a great atmosphere and the best ribs in town, then put Baby Blues BBQ on the top of your list, you won't regret it.

To be honest the only reason we decided to give this place a go was because of TripAdvisor! It looks like nothing from the outside but don't let that put you off. We had a half-rack of Memphis ribs and a burger - the coleslaw and collard greens with the meals were great as were all the different sauces you... More

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
