Short plates-good but empty

The menu is confusing as the food is "paired" with wine---indeed a different approach but a little difficult to comprehend when from salad through entrees are scattered amongst white and reds! The atmosphere is local and genuine with mostly comfortable seats but no round tables The food is average... read more

My wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner, having never gone before. They really are into wines- which neither me nor my wife drink. That's OK. We went for the food. The menu is varied. I think a chef runs the show here b/c he/she has a bunch of special, unique items on the menu. We were not... More

This was the perfect choice for dinner with friends. The food was amazing and the wine pairings were perfectly matched to the food. I highly recommend the four course tasting menu. Great value for the cost!

The food and service here make for a wonderful combination. Great for couples or groups the small, dimly lit dining room makes for the ideal ambiance for any number of occasions. I've been both with friends as well as on date night and have an amazing experience every time. The wait staff is incredibly well informed on the wines and... More

Always good food-in this case a Maine lobster dinner with great friendly service and well paired wines.

There are a ton of restaurants in LA. Some are good. But this one, this little gem is truly exceptional. The food has variety and some lovely person has put a lot of thought into every plate. The wine is exceptional and the ambiance is nice. This is a hidden gem =)

We came upon this place buy mistake really looking for something else, to our advantage it was nice and cozy. The drinks and selection was very good, yet the food was ok. I want to say it wasn't where we wanted to go and well it was a nice place to just sit, have drinks and leave basically. Once is... More

This is a fun place to go to try different wines. The wine selection is great, food nothing special. We enjoyed the mahi mahi, brussels sprouts salad, and salmon croquettes. The sea bass very good, but the mole short rib was over cooked. Service average: they did not refill our water upon request and took away our food too quickly-... More

Wow. Nice decor on the top of a small building--drive up to a congested parking zone in what appears to be an industrial area. Ambitious offerings and wide-ranging wine list. But the food left a LOT to be desired. Tried Chef Todd's White Truffle and Rioja Tasting Menu dinner. $95. Some of the dishes just didn't work. Good filet on... More

Hard to find but actually easy to get to and from if you are staying bear LAX. Upstairs 2 is a small place with big flavors. Dishes are arranged in a rather quiry format of a comparison to different types of wines. Ranging from appetizers (champagnes and sparklers*) to first courses (lighter whites) progressing to heavier dishers (bordeaus and full... More
