Like an old speak easy the dark wood and high-backed booths is a lot of fun to experience. The food is very traditional in the sense of a Manhatton menu say from the 20s or 30s. The fish, pasta, beef and sandwiches all got high marks from our party of 12. The only negative comment was the homemade pot pie.... More

We went they are for dinner to celebrate a work event. The bread arrived first and was the best part of the meal. Salads were good. Steaks were OK but nothing special. It appeared to be good quality meet but had no seasoning so tasted very bland. Sides were uninspiring. Dessert was disappointing. The bread pudding had blueberries in it... More

I'm in Hollywood once or twice a year, and Musso & Frank Grill on Hollywood Blvd. is a must-stop. Incredible food and old-style service. This place has been here since 1919 so of course is a huge part of Hollywood history. I usually have their filet mignon, and each and every time it is unbelievably good. Rich in flavor and... More

We love italian food, the actual italian dishes, but this one was tasteless. I finished the food because it didn't taste bad, but it didn't taste anything at all. My wife and kids couldn't. My other issue is that the waiter had an attitude and later tried to bill me for the soup bowl instead of soup cup, even though... More

When a restaurant still serves Liver and Onions, Welsh Rarebit and Chicken Pot Pie, you know you've come back in time. From the ambience to the food, service and drinks, Musso's is a fantastic place. Make a reservation no matter which night you go.

Hollywood Boulevard is a fun, but unabashedly modern tourist experience with its wax museums, souvenir shops and sidewalk tour hawkers. We were not expecting Musso & Frank's to be much different from the rest of the offerings on the blvd., but we were wrong. On entering it was like stepping into a different world and another era. Once inside, it... More

Definitely does transport you back in time. Good steak and good meatballs. Good desserts, large portions. Our group with different preferences all found something to keep them happy. A knockout martini too. I think having looked at some of the other reviews that the experience is consistent. Service also feels like it comes from gents that have been doing it... More

This restaurant has been serving the who's who in Hollywood for almost a century - a good enough reason to visit. The service was strangely rather vague, to be honest. But once you've got over that, and actually taste the food, you'll realise that it's actually a gem of a place. Admittedly, rather a faded gem. Their roasts are excellent.... More

A Hollywood scriptwriter wanted to consult me about a movie project involving a national journalism organization of which I was president (almost 40 years ago) and so I wound up having dinner at Musso & Frank. I knew the glory of its early motion-picture years going back just short of a full century, but I worried it might have faded... More

This is the oldest restaurant in Hollywood and whilst it may not initially draw you in from the outside, it is well worth venturing inside. Although they were extremely busy and there were no tables available, we were made to feel instantly welcome and they promised to find us a table within 30 minutes. This was the perfect outcome as... Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
