Cheese tamales and potato tacos al fresco. Odd phrasing, but nothing awkward about eating this great meal while standing outside watching the nearby festivities celebrating Mexican Independence Day. Fresh ingredients and an expert touch make the simplest foods a dream come true. Speedy and friendly service here too.

Popped in for a quick early dinner while I had some time to kill before heading to the airport. The restaurant seating setup is quite tight but serves it’s purpose. Service was friendly and efficient. I had to the taco, tamale and taquito dish, with rice and beans, which tasted pretty authentic. It’s a shame I’m not local, as would like to try to the full menu. Prices are very reasonable. The location is also good, only five minutes walk from Union Station.

Chorizo burrito and Huevo Rancheros dishes were great. Tasty and generous. Baked bread also a good choice. Strong coffee. Good prices.
Some difficulty in ordering and understanding questions.

My coworker asked our hotel where the locals eat and we were told we must go to Olvera St. we happened to find La Noche Buena! Wow!! It’s small and doesn’t look like much but their food is well worth it! Food is cheap but amazingly good!
We arrived later at night after most everything was closed up but eateries. The amazing smells coming from the little kitchen brought us in. I had enchiladas and Horchata! The staff were great and food was delivered quickly even though it’s cooked to order.
I highly recommend this place.

Probably the best taquitos I’ve eaten. They made them fresh and fried them them right in front of me. A tiny place with some seating inside and some bar seats outside right in front of the cook. Very friendly. I heard restaurant had been here for over 80 years. Check it out on Olvera Street in downtown Los Angeles.

Being Mexican-American, it's an endless search for good and authentic comida in the East SFValley. This tiny Olvera Street joint provided that fix. My chilaquiles were delicious. My wife and two friends were very happy with the beef and chicken taquitos with guacamole sauce. So the place is a tight squeeze and the seats are benches. It's the food that counts. La Noche Buena may not be the best, but it beats what Burbank has to offer.

Stopped in for lunch. Had two taquitos a taco rice and beans for six bucks. Can’t beat that! Food was great and service was friendly and excellent. Great place to sit at the window and watch the activity in all the shops. Would go back in a blink.

Went for something light and quick, had chicken and potato tacos - both were great. Service extremely friendly and quick. Checked all my boxes and it was reasonable. If you're on Olvera check it out. Oh, they're open at 6:00am for breakfast...I might go.

maybe a pair of tacos is not the best judge of a place, but the carne tacos were adequate. the chicken taco was a little better.

Its the small places that often have the best food, and this place is one of them. The wait staff are busy but attentive. Everyone is friendly, the food is made tight there and it is quick. Will come back again.

It's another of the many "stalls" on Olvera Street but one of the few that's open in the morning. Good huevos rancheros and other breakfast specialties. Coffee not awful. I hate the styrofoam cups though. Easy access from Union Station.

Stopped in for lunch while visiting Olvera Street area. Seating is limited but we were fortunate to find a place to sit and rest. I ordered the Combo Plate with Enchiladas and my daughter ordered Flautas. Both were excellent and filling. Servers were very busy with the foot traffic out front so refills came slow, however I will definitely return for the food.

Made to order old-style Mexican food on Olvera Street. It's a small shop with somewhat limited seating. The quality is just so-so but the prices are more than agreeable and they go the extra step with service. Remember it's not classy. Come to slum a bit.

La Noche is a great place to start your tour of Olvera Street in Downtown LA. They are open pretty early and they have a great Mexican breakfast. They also serve lunch and dinner.
The service is great, the staff so friendly. All of the menu items are great and you will be in heaven.
Their prices are reasonable. The place is super cute, not new or trendy, just adorable.
Have one of their burritos or some tacos. You will love, love it.
Have the best time. You are in downtown LA so, wallet--front pocket.

We ordered a A and a B plate. The quality was good, the food was fresh and it was very authentic. We have had better and we have had much worse. Very very small restaurant that keeps the food moving quickly and has great service.
