Coming from Melbourne, it was great to find somewhere that does real coffee! Nice outdoor setting and friendly staff to make it even better.

We stopped into the French Market Cafe two times on two recent trips to Venice, California. Biggest tip is that you go inside, line up and place your order and they'll give you a table number. It was nice to be able to sit outside. On Sundays they have a "chanteuse" who sings beautifully and adds a nice touch to... More

We went to this place for breakfast. We ordered coffee and eggs. They got our order wrong and when our food did arrive we had to send it back as not properly cooked. No apologies offered and not sure what all the hype is about.

Their crepes are fantastic. I bought a giant jar of Nutella to bring home. The line to pay and order was a little long.

The pastries and breakfast were amazing. This is one of the best bakeries I have been to. Very charming except for the odd Zoomba class or whatever was going on next door with the loud dance music. But that eventually subsided.

The little market with all the French goods you could ask for was well stocked! The food and coffee was amazing and the atmosphere couldn't be beat! My boyfriend and I were in the mood for something different and we came across the French Market Cafe! I almost felt like we were in Paris enjoying breakfast at a cafe off... More

The outdoor seating is just great. The food is pretty decent, even if there isn't anything spectacular about it. I really like their croissants and their bacon and egg baguette is also tasty. As the main dish I ordered Ratatuille, which also tasted fine. The patio is inviting, but the parking lot is quite cramped, so you might have to... More

This is a dogs lover paradise. Inside the market grab a menu, order and pay; you will receive a number to place on your table. Sit outside with your dog; of course your dog can sit on their very own seat. Much to our amazement, large and small dogs were all over the patio, some with their masters while others... More

We ended up here while we were looking for breakfast somewhere local and unique. It had good reviews so we decided to give it a shot. Ordering is a little weird at first since I tend to be a bit shy, but it's not too bad. You just pick up a menu, order from the front counter and then find... More

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
